And it’s time for a new round up of concept art images of The Last Knight that several artist share on the web. This time we have some art of The Last Knight Nitro Zeus, WWII Hot Rod & Battle On Cybertron. As usual, thanks to all members of our 2005 Boards for sharing these great images. You can find the pictures on the next threads: – Nitro Zeus By Josh Nizzi. A great look at the popular Decepticon from TLK with an alternative head similar to the one used in the toy. – WWII Hot Rod back By Josh Nizzi. We can see the rest of the design and weapons of the Autobot Warrior. – Battle On Cybertron By James Paick. A nice view of the soldiers on Cybertron firing their weapons. You can also check the mirrored images on the next news post: The Last Knight Concept Art: Nitro Zeus, WWII Hot Rod & Battle On Cybertron - Transformers News - TFW2005
I just love the look a Nitro ! Very cool in my book. Now this makes me want to get the voyager. I also really like the WWII era Hot Rod as well
I gotta say, I adore nitro Zeus's design. The one eyed glare, the imposing silhouette, and the Gatling gun arm. He's gong to look brilliant next my dotm shockwave. The hot rod art isn't to shabby either, but I just wanted to gush about nitro.
Nitro looks so much more awesome there than in the movie. I found a lot of the CG characters were particularly cartoonish this time round, and none of the Decepticons seemed much of a threat. But here he\'s menacing and serious looking. Think this is more deserving of a toy than the final CG model, so that worked out well
Actually Nitro Zeus' design was a non-TF related robot Josh Nizzi designed, then ILM repurposed it as KSI Boss in AOE, which got reused to make Nitro Zeus. The design has a weird history..
Well this explains why the toy of Nitro looks the way he is. Odd that they could not make a new head for him for the actual movie.
Has anyone actually figured out exactly what Nitro Zeus turns into in the movie? It's some kind of canard delta fighter jet, but I can't figure out if it's a Typhoon, a Dassault, or a Saab.
Nitro Zeus feels like a game changer transformation sequence-- with a complexity and design that seems very out of step with the simplicity of everything else-- that will probably go nowhere. He's complicated without being frustrating and interesting enough aesthetically to be just a hair above his brethren from either the DLX or VYGR scale. Which isn't to say he's problem free, but he's a design that feels like a blast of welcome chill air in a line that is otherwise filled with pretty standard fair. Not bad fair mind you. Just not the same as what's going on here with Nitro. Whatever it is his jet mode is pretty standard and seemingly underwhelming for Bay's usual. Typically the jet designs in his TF movies are very aggressive and seem to fit the general over the top nature of Bay's schtick, but this one is very paired back.
It's a bummer the movie was such a mess, because these designs are pretty great. Wish they had actually been used on screen far more, and not just thrown away
I prefer Nitro's look in the movie as opposed to the concept art to be honest. God he was so cool, he oozed personality. I really hope they find some way to bring him back in TF6, or introduce him in other continuities like IDW or RiD.
Even though Nitro was a left over from AOE KSI bots, he still seems like a butt-baby of Shockwave and ROTF Megsy CGI assets.
I would not be against Nitro showing up with Starscream in the Bumblebee movie. Or, if we somehow actually get a 6th film, him pulling a Barricade.
They made a HUGE mistake killing off Nitro Zeus. I want to believe hes alive but getting shot in the head point blank with your face on fire, not very survivable. At least Barricade is alive.
Didn't Barricade bite it in TF1? I seem to recall other TF's have died throughout the movie series also only to come back. I suppose it will depend on who is directing TF6, but I could see Nitro coming back if he's well liked enough by the new director.
I much prefer the head used in this art for Nitro rather than the straight up reuse of Shockwaves head in the final film. You can tell that his head is inspired by Shockwaves, but it's different at the same time.
Barricade just randomly disappeared in TF1 right after Bonecrusher popped up. Barricade then showed up in DOTM but seemed to escape NEST during their surprise attack on Shockwave.
I can only imagine - if they gave Nitro Zeus a deep and chilling voice - how much more intimidating and menacing a Decepticon he would have been. What a waste.
Possible... I don't remember that... But yes, Barricade is alive... now... Barricade vanished, but then came back in DOTM and was killed by Bumblebee and the NEST crew shortly after killing Q. Then somehow he's alive in TLK...
