Has anyone had any luck assembling the grey hands?? It's messed up it arrived in a million pieces. I'm having trouble attaching the finger joints toether, especially the thumb parts. Not sure why they refused to pack them assembled like they ususally do with seperate articulated hands. From the guns to the hands to the head, KFC really hosed us with this release.

I have assembled the hands but they were THE PITA. You will see that small thumb part fly. I found the last one after a week on accident after I quit looking. I would assemble in a closed cardboard box if you could with the parts separated outside. Its all about feel and technique. Your fingers will suffer. Now assembled they work great because of tightening the hand but you have to earn it.

It's funny how difficult it can be to put together KFC hands when it all comes in individual components. What I found, after having attempted to put it all together by hand was to use tools, such as the ones shown in the picture below, to clasp onto the end of a finger, and with a bit of force along with steady hands, push only one bit in (the distal digit) clasped by the pliers into the larger piece held in place by the adjustable wrench. I didn't have any imprints on my figure's fingers afterwards either, luckily enough, though your mileage may vary, and didn't bend or turn either piece for that matter.

It helps out tremendously, especially if you don't want to make your fingers hate you afterwards. Other than that, just do it slowly and keep it in an enclosed space just in case a piece does go flying away. The wrest involves screwing and placing into pegs on the wrist after the fingers are put together and into the hand.

Because the hands were added "at the last minute" as a bonus

I finally got the grey hands assembled and attached with the help of a pair needle nose pliers thanks to @Talos ' suggestion. The process still wasn't fun at all but it was less frustrating. It would've been a real bonus if the hands were at least a assembled. It would've made more sense for them to make the purple hands the last minute bonus.

So do the guns fit properly with the grey hands without using the new handles?

I think it's only the left hand like the purple ones, the new handles are longer even tho the right one is the only one that really needs it iirc.

No. If you want the guns to fit properly on any hands you must have the new handles. However the new handles don't fold all the way into the gun for storage in jet mode. So it sticks out about 10 degrees more than it should. Plus the new handles are very loose when you try to plug them into the circle holes for storage on the arms in bot mode or the black backpack area (bot and jet mode). Smh. Keith dropped the ball on this release.

Try them again. The gold pieces on my Simba were replaced, and these are way more durable.

Unfortunately XTB's customer communication isn't always consistent.
Any time send or reply to them via email I always make sure I include all 3 of their email addresses in the To field. That seems to get faster responses within 24 hours.

I recently ordered an extra set of Kingorilla guns directly from them. Why? Because the new gun handles, while they finally peg into the hand palm slots, they do not fit securely into the arm/gorilla/jet peg holes. Sow now I'll basically end up with 4 guns just to be able to pose Kingorilla in all his modes with guns securely attached. Good old Keith for ya. Smh.

I keep coming back to Kingorilla as I'm constantly on the fence about it. Each time I feel like I'm gonna buy it I come back here and see more posts about why I shouldn't. :lol

People that own figures with issues are a lot more vocal about it... I own two copies and both are fine, the hand - gun issue is real, but a fix comes with Kingzilla... I didn't need the fix because I manage to peg both guns in both hands without problems...

Do you own Terminus Giganticus, Koot or their version of Weirdwolf? Those 3 have faults... But people still recomend them because Fanstoys...

If you plan to buy Kingorilla, just be aware of his only widespread problem...

Other than Koot missing his cy-gar face, I didn't have any issues with that, Terminus or Lupus.

I do have Kingzilla coming but Kingorilla keeps making me think twice.

Keep in mind something about the "fixed" Kingorilla gun handles that home with Kingzilla. While they finally enable Kingorilla to hold the guns in his hands, the bigger tabs prevent the gun handles from folding in all the way for jet mode. They will oddly protrude out a bit. Furthermore the circular pegs on the new handles are unfortunately a bit small so when you try to mount the guns on the bot arms as arm cannons or try to mount them as jet guns the fit is not snug like the original gun pegs are. As a result the looseness causes the guns to point downward.

Basically you'll need the original gun pegs to peg the guns securely in jet mode/ape mode/into robot arm cannon position. But then you'll need an extra pair of guns with new gun handles installed in order for the robot hand to hold them securely. In total you will need 4 guns in order to be able to use them in all alt/bot modes. It sucks but it's true. KFC's cash grab remedy for the guns still isn't a complete resolution. I can see why KFC won't bring this up but conveniently no XTB/KFC die hard fans have mentioned this before now.

See! So you own those 3 and you don't have those problems!... So give Kingorilla a try, just take into account what ChromeMagnus said about the fix. Or you might be lucky and don't have that problem at all.
