Yes, I think @hardreturn confirmed that.

I wouldn't be surprised, though, that even on a final production copy there might be some color differences noticeable in certain lighting, since matching painted diecast to plastic can be tricky.

 

Green is also notoriously difficult to photograph. Greens can look completely different shades and/or horribly mismatched in photos yet be totally fine in person.
I'm thinking of a Macross VF-27 I bought several years ago that looked like several shades of green in photos but in hand it was consistent.

So far for my taste, X-Transbots has the one that looks like it will fit with my collection the best. (I'm sticking to the MP10- Modernized toon/toy/realism look)

 

Green DX9 Hanzo was tough too.

 

Yeah, neither version of Hanzo looked quite the same in person as they did in most of the photos.

 

I'm warming to this guy. I like the way he looks with his expanding chest.

 

The glossy paint looks nice too.

 

Only just spotted this.

I think Klaatu is better at being Sunbow Cosmos, and Spaceracer is better at being "Hasui style" toy+sunbow Cosmos.

Omne has a tiny bit of IDW in him. Don't like the thighs (too thin), the head (too stern), the inner elbows and all of the altmode.

None of the three Cosmos' (Cosmii?) get the colors correct.

I'll be staying with Klaatu. then again, I originally preferred Spaceracer and didn't like Klaatu. So maybe Omne will grow on me. Maybe.

 

Agreed, Klaatu appears to be the most toon accurate, but I've decided to get Spaceracer for the very reason you stated. It's wonderful to have some nice options to choose from though.

I more or less agree with these statements, especially about the colors. It's long puzzled me that no one seems bothered by Klaatu's green being too dark, the way that people were bothered by Spaceracer being gold instead of yellow. I was originally Team Klaatu but bought Spaceracer as a placeholder; then when colored shots of Klaatu were released I lost interest for a variety of reasons, the colors and the excessive 'toon accuracy being foremost. Still, I do wish that Spaceracer were taller. I like Klaatu's height. And he's got a great alt-mode.

I really like this MMC Cosmos too, but yes he does feel a bit more IDW-ish than anything else. That's not a problem for me, I just get the feeling that he's going to be an addition to Spaceracer for me, not a replacement. TBH I might pick up Klaatu some day anyway, just because I love Cosmos.

 

Is it just me or do his eyes give him the appearance that he's turning Japanese... he's turning Japanese... I really think so.

... Okay, it looks really damn good. Shit.

I know the colors are pretty close to accurate, so I don't have room to actually complain... but am I the only one who wishes he was a brighter green rather than sorta olive? He's a god-damned long range exploration craft desperate for some attention... you'd think he'd want a bolder paint job.

 

Overall, I like it. I just wish Bumblebee would close the razzenfrazzen rear window already....
