Liking G1 and not liking TLK are not mutually exclusive. This is an old line to take, especially in defence of a movie like TLK that offers viewers a variety of reasons not like it.

 

This. I like a lot of the movieverse, and fully expected to enjoy the new one, even expecting it to have a lot of bullshit, and was still sorely disappointed. I just can't defend it in any way.

 

So I preordered the steel book version from Best Buy last week but I am now a bit leery because of the issues that are going on with the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 4K steel book preorders.

What issues happened with GOTG Vol2?

 

Preordered steel book 4K version since it also included the 3D Blu-ray. This was on July 12 with a guaranteed delivery date of today. Last night I got an email like a lot of others stating that shipment was delayed and if not shipped by 9/20 then I would have the option to cancel. In the mean time it is available in stores and you can even order it online from the Best But website for delivery. So basically if you preordered to have it guaranteed to be delivered today you may not get it at all but if you order it today it will be shipped to you and you may have it by the end of the week.

 

Gotcha,I went and picked up mine this morning at the store,they were all out of standard bluray steelbooks,since they only had like 3 of them so I had to settle for the 4k steelbook even tho I dont need 3D or have a 4k player yet but it fits in with my previous GOTG Steelbook so Im good with it,considering some the standard steelbooks are going for 50 or more online. Also an old lady got mad at some people this morning for buying all the standards up but the store employees said they only got a few in as the rest were 4k so there wasnt much you could do if you wanted it.

 

It looks like it all got settled and my copy is set for delivery today, only one day late. I wasn't going to watch it yesterday anyway but still annoyed they guaranteed delivery on release date and didn't live up to that promise.

 

Yeah that is a bummer,hope your copy comes in safely and you can enjoy it later.

Why preorder?

 

Supposed guaranteed delivery on release date and convenience of not having to drive to the store myself not to mention it was the steel book version which the local stores don't get many copies of.
