I was going to buy Spaceracer but I think I might have to get both. Maybe I should buy the translucent Spaceracer instead of the normal one. Hmm...

I'm sure it'll be fine in person, but my recommendation for next time would be allowing the panel itself to be used as a release button rather than opening it to access a hard-to-reach switch.

Damn, I'm torn on this guy now. He's big. almost a little too big. Toyworlds is a nicer size and seems to have some nice detailing on him, but the hands and a few ther things turn me off on him. Toyworld kind of seems more toy while Klaatu seems more toon I guess.
I can deal with Wardog being so large as he feels bulky and he's a tank. Cosmos is teetering on the edge of being too tall, but I think he'll just scrape through. For now I think XTB's will win

One thing Peaugh's review did do is reinforce my feeling that I don't like how tall DX9 Powerglide is. I was watching the review and saw how big Cosmos was and thought: "hmmn, he's big. But maybe Klaatu and Wardog together will make DX9's Poweglide look a bit better." But then he brought it out and it just still feels too tall for me. The chub and bulk of both Cosmos and Warpath makes their larger size seem less of an issue for me. But Powerglide is a slender guy, there's no reason he needs to be that tall. A cm shorter is all that's needed.
But Cosmos is working for me I think.

 

I'm still going to buy Klaatu though. Your designs are really cool, ibot.  

 

This is by far the best Cosmos thats out there right now.Great sculpt,nice transformation and i dont mind the size at all as he still is shorter than a carbot and i like the variety in heights formy minibots.
My only nitpicks are the spring for his head is too tight and the spacing on the ratchets for his ankle joints is a bit too big.I think it was unnecessary to add ratchets on his ankles for side to side movement

I really like the look and size of this guy, but part of me wishes he was even bigger. Like IDW big. Like leader class big. I dunno, I just think a flying saucer should have some decent heft compared to other vehicles. But as it stands, this one's my first choice for a Cosmos.

 

Me neither, I was actually googling for the more famous black & white pic but this came up and looked remarkably Cosmos-like! Seeing all the silver hubcap 'u.f.o' photos makes me want a silver repaint of Klaatu though

Yeah that orange-red alongside the yellow looks a bit cheap to me. If it's as bad in person I'll probably spray the head... Tamiya PS-15 Metallic Red might be good, it's one of those thin paints where you can do just a light coating so the base colour still shows but feels more premium - makes a big difference. The more layers you spray on the more opaque it becomes.

Nah, but I think it would make those guys more interesting if they did

Absolutely there should be no ratchets on the feet, especially for a small figure. I don't understand why third parties use so much ratchets on the legs, TT doesnt even do that on their larger MPs.

 

Becuase takara likes to save money.

If you use the correct size ratchets then there will be no A stance.

 

Both Ben's and ActionRobo's showed them off together. I don't think Peaugh did, off the top of my head.

Makes them sturdier, especially when they use diecast. I personally like it.

Correction: Because TakaraTomy has a much stricter budget to adhere to.

 

As long as the final production shipments are as good as the sample, I can't see how this figure gets a bad review.

XTB seems to have hit the mark on all important levels: Look, articulation, well applied paint, good weight, nice accessories, smart transformation, correct color scheme

I can't wait to see Klaatu in my collection. This is how I love to see XTB/KFC operate.

Yeah, it definitely was. I wish he had spent a bit more time comparing them, but I suppose ActionRobo did it well enough (except for the white balance, which made Spaceracer look like he has a horrible tan).
