In all fairness though the last three are just generics rather than actual mistakes. I would personally love for a Shockwave in that deco (if Fans Toys or Cloud 9 redecoed their Shockwaves into those colors I'd buy em) and that Cyclonus looks quite nice (like, I'd love for that deco to get a release in any form and maybe a proper name; at worst call him Armada).

The episode "Joker's Wilds" from Batman: The Animated Series was IIRC the episode that caused Bruce Timm to never want to work with AKOM again.

The producers of X-Men threatened AKOM with lawsuits when they saw how shoddy their work was on the series. AKOM went back over and made a lot of fixes before airing to avoid being sued, so a lot of their mistakes never made it to broadcast. But there are still some, if you're looking close enough. Nothing as blatant as Transformers though, that got the worst of it.

As for Batman, like Raiyuki said, Timm was trying to establish a decent standard for that show, and it didn't take too many AKOM episodes before he realized they weren't meeting expectations so they were fired from the show.

If you wanted something done fast and on the cheap, you went to AKOM. You got what you paid for.

True, they are generics, but passing off recolored Dinobots as 'Cons, or two identical generic Shockwaves besides one another?

I wish I could see some screen shots of those errors on Xmen and Batman. I'll admit, The 90s Xmen animated series artwork overall was good but not as good as the 1989 single pilot episode Pryde of The Xmen.

Oh god. I remember watching the 90's X-Men when it first aired and it was just horrible. I remember a shirtless Magneto on a monitor and all kinds of errors. I guess it was so bad they went back and fixed it for later airings.

Man all this talk of 90s X-Men - right back to childhood nostalgia there! I was never too much into the comics at the time, but I loved the cartoon so much. Same for Spider-Man.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the white outline of the flames repainted very thinly over it:

    Most visible in that photo.

Having only owned the targetmaster G1 toy, and since Hot Rod never used his guns in the movie, I quite like the look of his blaster in red:

It's definitely growing on me. I'll have to ask my brother if he remembers The Rebirth screening on Portuguese TV at any point, because I sure don't.

I don't think that's an actual white outline, looks more like highlights on the edge of the tampo/transfer of the flame deco (which presumably had to be made specially for this prototype, thus not the smooth, finished factory-applied tampo we're used to).

I mean Dinobots are weird sure even if they aren't exactly standing out. But twin Shockwaves next to each other in the same army that employed hundreds of identically colored Seekers? Seems perfectly fine to me to be honest.
From what I recall of the episode I mentioned it isn't even errors in animation; the quality overall just feels terrible.

It's weird I remember watching the 90s Xmen toon and thinking to myself "The animation art isn't bad but it just doesn't seem polished compared to the animation art on 80s toons including Pryde of the Xmen."

I already have MP-28 Hot Rod, but I will plan on buying MP-40 just to compare both MP Hot Rod figures.
