Not sure if this is the right spot to post, but I freaking love Dragon Transmetal Megs!! He's by far my fav incarnation not just of Megs but any leader character, Decepticon or Autobot ... to me it's just self-evident, his sheer awesomeness screaming right at you, and yet I'm blown away how niche he seems on these boards ...

 

There's no doubt he's pretty cool. I think the problem is he kind of had a limited run in the cartoon, I'm not sure his official toy was all that great (?) and Beast War's often get's kind of caught between old time G1 fan's and the newer Bayformer crowd so struggles to get it's share of attention.
But looking at the popularity of the MP Dinobot thread, there's clearly a lot of love for Beast War's stuff around here. It's just waiting on someone to show some nice renders and tune into that appeal.

After watching GoT and getting my dragon BBQ fix, I think more ppl will jump on the dragon hype train! .... plus I was just reading whole essay on how the Japanese absolutely love dragons ... they forced the original Godzilla guy to incorporate them into his canon (Ghirdra) ... so all I can is - MP treatment, stat! (But yeah his lack of screentime hurt his popularity, the toy on the other hand is dope AF, just prone to chrome flaking)

 

I'd LOVE an updated Dragon Megatron, but I'm worried about what they will do with it's style. A huge part of it's appeal to me was the TM2 'cyborg' nature of it, which was frigging perfectly done on the guy, especially the dragon head. I don't think that PE's take on it would have that. I'd still love it, but I'd also miss that element.  

 

I have this in processing and counting the days till it ships out. But a big yes to Trans-metal II Megsy dragon at some point would be awesome.

 

I'm honestly surprised that PE hasn't announced a TM2 Megs yet as I assumed that OpOp sold really well for them.

is anyone else put off by the cannons not forming part of the shoulders like they do in the show? THis guy looks great, but that's a deal breaker imho

 

It's not the show design though, it's a generations style update using the optimal Optimus design as a starting point

Following the news of their TM Megatron I've immediately gotten over my, but what will I display him with, and ordered one of these bad boys.

I just realized that PE gave this guy some Bird DNA, because Beast Gorira has a GERWALK mode. I think I like this more than the vehicle modes. The pointed beak on the cockpit, the long wing span, the feet almost look like they have bird talons.

 

You fuckers are obsessed with Robotech   Keep that shiz underwraps before Harmony Gold gets any stupid ideas and rears their ugly heads  

Which goes to show that cartoon accuracy in most cases isn't better. Which boggles my mind regarding 80's cartoons applied to figs in this era.

After saving a bit to get this guy, so far he feels like a massive disappointment.

For such simplistic alt modes, his transformations are RIDICULOUSLY complex. And the instructions are USELESS. I'm trying to fit the wheels/ Beast Head in the back section but can't figure out how I undid this.
