Yes, why is this news? There were pre-orders for MP-36 out long ago for Q4 2017, more than a month ago.

What I meant was that the line is hugely successful regardless of the usual complaining over "hasui's style". And those complaining buy the new stuff anyway.

Yes, for $190. He has never been sold out in BBTS and price is still high...and the owner.

If you were going to order it from HLJ why not just buy from another JP site like Amiami or Anime-Export instead of a US store?

I was kicking myself for not getting the UM reissue when I could have for about 14000 yen...glad to see it now for about 12000 yen so preordered! Cyclonus needs a sparring partner.

Thanks Duke I assumed most jp sellers provide the plug. As I recall I think I had to preorder mp5 from robot kingdom for this reason.

No problem; I'm pretty sure HLJ was the only who did put the plug in. That was pretty surprising. IIRC TFSource actually sold it without the plug, which was also equally surprising, but you save on the markup importing it yourself.

Admittedly, the collector's impulse is strong for many. And, unfortunately, having a complete series means buying the good with the bad [perspectives as they vary]. But, again, Megatron as an example of, "hey, animation faithfulness works" isn't a sound argument. Soundwave sold out too. As did Apollyon in the first wave. "Hey, people buy the extremely fan favored characters no matter what the format!" may be a better summarization. But even that has it's caveats as Shockwave went to discount too.

Yup, I'm getting a 2nd Megatron. I can fiddle around with my other one more, while leaving my other one in pristine condition.

I'll just wait for the FT versions of both characters.

    MP-36 2nd run?

    I'll get it IF....

Tak-Tom made improvements with barrel/silencer attachment.
That's where's the common debate / issue of breakage of MP-36 right?
With 100 plus steps of transformation and hefty price, you got a "breaking" point in the figure?

    Hi folks,

As a relatively new collector, can you let me know if there are any benefits in waiting for the reissue of Magnus instead of picking him up now from BBTS?

I never got Ultra Magnus, so I am actually really looking forward to a slightly cheaper reissue. I also never got MP-36, but, and please don't hiss and spit at me, I am happy with Apollyon, and will probably just stick with him. Although, depending on what I can actually pay for him, when the time comes, maybe I will grab a MP-36, who knows.

Either way, MP-22 is a must for me.

Based on Takara's history of MP repaints, especially Anime Sideswipe, and the imminent "release" of MP-40 (MP-28 with a TargetMaster), chances have got to be pretty good for a Silver toy version of Megatron in the next 12-18 months right?

I think @Liampope was the one who noticed that with MP-31 they had fixed some issue which stopped Magnus from turning his cab in alt mode without it catching. So the reissue MP-22s shouldn't have that issue. I think the sprue marks on the arms were less noticeable on the reissues, too.

All depends on what deco we get for MP-40, but a toy-deco definitely increases the likelihood of a silver Megatron with red inner legs.
