If I was gonna get an MP G1 Swipe, this would probably be it. I dig how rich and vibrant the colours are.

 

I don't think it's a question of what "we need". MP 12 is fine. It's more along the lines of what makes money for TT and the old saying that if you build it, they will come. If they make a Swipe V2 in the new aesthetic, people will jump on it.

 

I have MP Sunstreaker and MP Black Convoy pre-ordered at AE. I said what the heck and just ordered MP12+ Sideswipe from Amazon JP for $63 shipped. Very unpredictable how they determine what they will ship to USA and what they will not. At any rate this will be my 4th iteration of MP12 Sideswipe mold is some way (1st run, 2nd run, G2, Tigertrack and now MP12+) oh and actually 5th if I count the oversized Tanaka KO with LED headlights....that one is on the way from bababobo00712 on Ebay. I think I'm all MP Sideswipped out!!

 

Are there any pics comparing this to the original MP12 release in bot and alt mode?

If MP-12+ really is being produced in Vietnam I hope they use the same painting technique as on Ironhide - that paint was durable as hell, and looked so nice and even all over.

 

Im hoping the Vietnam plant doesnt have any issues. Most of the QC problems recently have been from there

 

Thanks for the link. I added Sideswipe and Sunstreaker to my cart. For some reason, I'm getting a "cannot ship this item" message for Sideswipe. I'm not getting the message for Sunstreaker.

I checked the AJP site again after I saw you had trouble with your order, and I noticed that Sideswipe + has gone back to non-global shipping eligibility while Sunstreaker has remained eligible for international shipping. Why? I'm not sure. But while Sideswipe has that shipping status, you won't be able to place an order for him with a US address. That's why it's allowing you to order one, but not the other. Things change quite often on Amazon sites (any of them), so it's usually best to jump on an item right away, in case something like this happens. It could become US-eligible again at any time though; you'll just have to keep a close eye on it. By clicking to have only global-eligible items show in search results on the site, you can see what you'll be able to order without starting the checkout process just for nothing.

 

Thanks. It's not a big deal. I was just curious on Amazon JP in general since I've never used it. Makes sense that an item would change status from time to time. I just wasn't sure what would happen if I placed an order and it later changed to not allow shipping to the U.S.

 

AJP is great. Pretty much all the pros of ordering from Asia instead of from a US seller with none of the cons. I recommend it. As for the status changing after already ordering it, yeah, this is a first for me with them. For now anyway, my order hasn't changed, so I assume they'll honor it even if Sideswipe never returns to global shipping. I'll keep my BBTS order as back-up for the time being, just in case, but hopefully the AJP order holds thru.

 

You should be fine, Grapple went in and out a couple of times and no one had trouble with Inferno, Grapple, or Megatron.

Wow, that's messed up, man. I'm glad I jumped on it when I did. It would be nice if the listing at least showed a cutoff date/resume date for global shipping.
How and why does Amazon JP determine if and when an MP is eligible for global shipping?
Any word when the MP10B reissue will be available thru Amazon JP?

 

We have no idea when or why Amazon JP does global shipping. I'm just glad they are doing it again. If not, I wouldn't of ordered 12+ (I had to reward Amazon JP for bringing global shipping back).
As for MP-10B he has been available since mid July for pre-order.  

 

From now on when new official MPs are available for pre-order I'm checking with Amazon JP first every time before AE. Once the item becomes available Amazon JP ships immediately and their shipping time from Japan to the southeast USA is about 3 days. Amazing.

 

Just in case you're interested, MP-12+ is back to being eligible for global shipping. Who knows how long it may last this time? You could always preorder now while you can, and cancel it later if you change your mind.

 

Much thanks for the heads up. I still had both in my cart and placed the pre-order. Sunstreaker was listed at 8900, but it says 8300 when I look at my order. I tried to add Tracks to the order, but it won't ship to the U.S. Guess I'll try again another time for Tracks.
