    Look, it's a $2700 Transformer that doesn't Transform.

    Here's a $450 Transformer figure that doesn't transform

You can dislike it all you want. I'm not paying that much to own it. But they're in no danger of tanking as a company and there's enough Transformers fans with the wallet and the desire for it.

I mean, I guess it would look nice and all, but I will never see the appeal of getting a Transformer that doesn't transform.

Hasbro and Takara are doing this to be the only people in the market who create transforming Transformers, everything else is just merchandise.
I dont think complaining here will sway opinions, this isn't a toy design thing anymore, it's a brand identity thing.

It's really cool! I was totally unaware.

I've made a TFwiki article for Kunio Okawara after discovering this

Hell of a crowd. This is an IDW inspired line of premium priced, non transforming figures. Which is almost like dropping a bomb and walking away as it is.

Seeing how well their Drift and Tarn are shaping up, this will likely be a damn good take on a damn good design for a damn niche crowd. I'm not a part of it as I like my gear to transform, but whatever audience is there (and it does exist cos we're seeing a lot of this stuff of late) are being spoilt rotten here.

As for the backlash to the choice of character portrayal - I get it, some diehards are not keen - but this isn't Victory Star Saber nor is it intended to be. Both the G1 and IDW designs seem to piss enough people off for any announcement to cause a mild hysteria regardless, so sterling work on their part for the choice of character :lol

I've always wanted TFWiki to acknowledge him.

Additionally, he also designed Scorponok, Slugslinger and Crosshairs as well.

lol. It's sad because I am one of those rare people that would love to have non transform figures like this. But I'm already trying to get myself away from Hot Toys prices. I'm certainly not going to spend MORE than Hot Toys for smaller robots.

Since he was heavily involved with Brave and already working for Takara during Victory, I'm wondering if he worked on Zone as well. Or Battlestars for that matter ;)

That's fantastic, thank you for the info! I actually had Slugslinger as "Unused Headmaster"

I wanna say Battlestars was all Ban Magami, but after discovering this I don't know what to believe lol

I may consider buying this figure if MMC doesn't announce one.

And only this figure as the size will probably be acceptable when displaying with voyager scaled figures, and also because I don't feel like shelling out $300.00 for more non-transforming figures.

At the moment this is just a drawing. If Flame Toys is releasing this as an entry in their line it will be an officially licensed 3rd party item.

Decided to bail on Drift and Tarn, but this I will buy! Love this design. Hopefully it fits with MP IDW figures from GT and GC

Love it , gonna hate the price ... but luckily with the drift prices out I can roughly make do by having an estimate to save up for it since it's gonna take awhile lol

Wow, thats a lot of money for an action figure. Its looks cool but I agree all the Flametoys stuff looks a bit too similar to Gundam.
