That is waaay better than my Chromedome idea. Can't believe I didn't think of that! I own him and love the mold! That said, the whole Power of the Primes (POTP?) Rodimus thing is really upsetting. I mean, there should be some sort of trailer attachment for the Hot Rod I own! Eh, it's not that big of a deal anyways.
It's not exclusive to the convention. It's an early release, so it'll probable end up also being some kind of retailer exclusive like Brainstorm.
Where did it say it was an early release? Do we know if the retail version will include Ultra Magnus?
I like what they did with Titan Master Daniel's head better than Takara's human-skull-in-ballistics-gel exosuit Spike's head. That being said, I'm pretty underwhelmed by these exclusives.
That Optimus Prime is pretty cool. The Arcee, on the other hand, is a bit of a stretch. I would want to see if TakaraTomy can make her look sharper. And Daniel's robot mode? They must be joking. At least Arcee is remolded somewhat. I was afraid she would just have a new head.
its looking more like this is the first figure in the new collector club. So its an early release of a CC figure that might not be available to the general public for maybe months. After that its really just up to Hasbro as to who/if they want someone else to carry it. You may have to join the club in order to get her.
While I don't necessarily need a second Arcee...I may just grab to have another Fem-former in the fold...I wonder if either the Arcee or Blurr-rcee molds could've got retools as the other G1 Elita-One team members...
Three pages later and no one has commented yet on the "HTC COLLECTOR CLUB" thing. Hasbro Toy Club? Interesting... Hey now! Machine Wars was one of my favorites! My only regret is not being able to get Prowl, Hubcap, Soundwave, Optimus, or Megatron to complete the update.. No, it's an homage to Rebirth. Arcee wasn't even in Masterforce. Though she will end up living on my Legends Headmasters shelf... Just need Twincast and the Trainbots...
I would've thought somebody as anal about GEEWUN as you would know which series the characters are from! Arcee has only been a Headmaster in the "Season 4" "Rebirth" episodes that only came out in Japan much later. In the Japanese canon she never became one. Either way, if you think this figure isn't also an homage to IDW Arcee... Well.. I have some bad news for all you Geewunners about that head...
I'm waiting to freak out about the Club until HasCon when they announce what it is. I mean, I'll probably pay for it. I have no will power. And there could be worse things than sets like this that come with a club membership - but until I see a pay structure, which includes whether or not membership pays for a bunch of Hasbro shit I don't want - I'm not developing a real opinion either way. Given the prices in the Club store, I think it's fair to say that MW was . . . well, maybe not a failure or anything, but certainly a set where supply and demand appeared to be quite mismatched. While I'm sure there were reasons for it, it remains a giant shame they couldn't/didn't complete the MW homages. I don't have an attachment to MW, but having all 12 updates available would have gotten me to bite.
As long as they make it actually available to the rest of the world without scamming anyone outside of America like a certain other club in the past I'll be very happy.
That Prime mold looks creative and has dual use as an extra charger, so for me, it will be worth tracking down. Arcee makes sense, but I'm not in the rush to get her. Interested in how the Ultra Magnus head mold titan master looks like. May work with the Magnus Prime fig in the Siege on Cyberton set. The Magic cards though look fun, but kinda disappointed by Grimlock's stats and abilities. Would have been great if he was planeswalker type like Karn care and/or he had more abilities fitting with his character e.g. haste, first strike and possibly even some kind of protection...because cool looking artifacts can still be easily dealt with in the game. If they plan to make more of these, I be even interested in just a small set of G1 characters using Magic rules. Right now, he's more fitting for casual play, with the other cards, reminiscent of the Unglued set.
That is possible that it was an Animated reference, but it helps appeal it to the IDW crowd. Thrilling 30 Arcee was actually the perfect example of how a Generations toy of that era homaged the history of the character while giving out something new. My apologies. The set has fans, I meant no offense, but it was the easiest example I could think of for showing that the giant box set exclusives method was not for everyone.
Sorry to say, but imo - after the novelty feeling wears off - I can see the robotmodes of all of those "device" altmode transformers kind of sucks. Arcee looks like a decent retool though.
Nah it's cool. That set isn't for everyone. I understand that... It could have been SO MUCH MORE had it been a complete update of the entire line.
