I need these. Slugfest looks fine but Overkill is friggin' adorable. He looks like the angriest little dinosaur stuck at the size of a tape.

I'm perfectly happy with the KFC tapes, but I think I'll have to get these anyway. I'm such a sucker for tapebots.

Nice - I was trying to figure out Durden!

I wonder if RH based their name on my suggestion for Barney or if it was just a coincidence. That would be cool! See post #11 - Link

Not bad. Overkill isn't quite cartoony enough to work for what I go for personally with MPs, but these could definitely work for me for Classics.

Easily better than KFC... but that's not saying a lot, considering how much FAIL those KFC ones were! :lol

I am having trouble seeing Overkill. WHITE ON WHITE!! :lol  I thought, for a moment, that his head was his blue arm, and was all, "What the hell happened to the dino head????" :lol

$40 is a little high, imo. I'll wait for a price drop or a better version. These are almost perfect, but the aesthetic still seems off to me.

Slugfest\'s head is exactly the G1 toy\'s. So is articulation... Not seeing the point of these. I have the G1 ones already... if they made them look like the G1 animation models, and Masterpiece-style, maybe.

The look pretty good. The cassette spools don't really match the others though, which throws it off a bit. But I do appreciate how they put some effort into the cassette mode.

None of the microcassette scaled figures dramatically improve on the original toys except perhaps in materials and a modest increase in articulation. That includes the official ones. I much prefer MMC's bot-scaled designs for that reason, they have more of a reason for existing.

That said, these guys turned out better than I expected for sure. They are very cute, espeially Overkill. For what it's worth although their articulation is limited it is an improvement on the G1 (I had both these guys as a kid). Mostly the upgrade is in the limbs, which now actually extend out from the bodies. The original toys' legs just kind of angled out a bit or folded straight out. This Overkill's head is also larger and more detailed.

I have enough affection for the original toys and these are so cute I may just pick them up so I have something to do with Soundwave. Would be nice if MMC would upsize them someday but I need Autobot cassettes first.

I'm going to hold off on preorders until I can get a confirmation of whether the QC is good, but if they turn out well I'm absolutely buying these.

Overkill looks odd but gains a lot of character in that, and both of them look like they could be legitimately fun to transform to robot and back so long as the plastic feels good.

Do they? They don't even fit in Soundwave.

Not too sure if I'd say that. I like them, for sure, but they aren't super useful outside Ravage. These, while flawed, are still (even if minimally) improvements upon the G1 toys, and are great space fillers for any fans of the G1 or MP Soundwave toys (I don't even own either and I know I'm getting these just to go into Soundblaster when I can afford him).

Sometimes, you just need a couple extra boxes to fit into your pectoral cavities.
