Its a good thing if it is good quality. I wouldn't want it to be a floppy mess after a month. That is still unknow.

My rant a couple of days ago was more about why prices couldn't be at this point years ago. And I think we as a community need to find a way to get prices down.

I would watch a shot-for-shot remake starring the Scavengers from IDW.

People love the race to the bottom until they get there and realize what's there.

I don't see anyone saying they want to pay more for no good reason. I think there is a concern though about what it could mean or what it could do to the market in the future.

I love these prices and am happy to see them but I don't think it's fair to dismiss concerns over the extreme price drop as people being crazy and just wanting to pay more.

There are legitimate scenarios in which this kind of pricing COULD be harmful to the 3P market overall. Or, maybe, like you said, these have been low cost all along and now we'll see prices starting to come down across the board. Guess we'll find out.

No, I want to pay less and think we should be paying less. I don't see the major 3ps selling things at this $60 price point for their MP sized products. MMC for a good time had lower pricing but they have normalized.

If Zeta and XTBs combiners are actually good and free of issues then we the buyers definitely win and maybe other comapies will follow suit, but if it is crap, well then crap!

Wei Jiang throttlebots are inexpensive but they feel like transforming toddler toys. Even the KO seekers are going for $100. I hope the Yes model of Chromedome is good, but I just don't see prices going down like this.

Please cite some lower / lowering prices on major 3p toys besides these. I just don't see it. Limb bots have held around $100. Dx9 Gabriel has a good tag on it. But I just don't see a lot of these lowering prices.

So I just ask why are these prices so low? And it they are up to snuff quality with the other major 3p brands, why can't they get us these prices.

If I were Zeta Toys, and I just went through a split, changed my name, started my own company and had these already started products done, I would be worried about consumer confidence of the new company. So they can do 1 of 2 things, price where they (this is total speculation) wanted to at around $100/limb OR cut the margins as razor thin as possible to get people to actually try them out and sell more QUANTITY. This will allow them to recoup their costs already in place and grow an new fan base. They can then marginally increase their profit margins on future releases if these are well received, which has a much better chance at a lower price point. That's my guess on the situation, they simply went as low as they could go to keep as many of the perspective ToyWorld customers as possible and MAYBE even bring in new ones to allow them to prove themselves. /speculation.

Personally, this is what I think is happening. They're coming in low to fend off competition and get a foot hold. I wouldn't be surprised to see future non-toy World related designs go up in price.

I personally think Zeta is just trying to recoup cost or recoup salaries that they perceived that they should have received for the designs. Future continuity of the business will probably depend on the sales performance of their two titans. After all, they are made up of designers and not business minded individuals. So this could very well be the only two sets we will see from them.

This exactly what I expect to happen. If in fact Zeta continues past these two sets. Once they've burned off these designs they may just be done.

Now if Scrapper's Shovel and Mixmaster's Cab were Dicast, do you think Constructor would be more stable at standing and better to hold poses then he is? I sure think so. (I own him to)

I know this is old news now, but I really need to know. Is this actually the inspiration for the original toys?

    Surely seems plausable.

I know next to nothing about jets so I can't identify if the others are the same models.

If it's true, not only am I doing a 180° on my position Silverbolt must be a Concorde, I'm bumping this team up to super fucking awesome status.

Short of screwing Constructor to the table I can't imagine him being or needing to be more stable. I do like diecast though. Not on combiners.

If the wings on these aerialbots have detents like the wings on Kingorilla, then they will withstand multiple transformations without any problems...

Doubt it---I'm unaware of the XB-70 being especially known/popular in Japan (as most TF's have Takara-chosen alt-modes etc), especially at that time, and only one of that group matches the Aerialbots. But that is about the only time you'll see a big plane escorted by several different types at once.
