it could be that a very early draft of the script was that optimus somehow was also on earth during the middle ages and scanned a gorilla as his alt mode? doesn't have to link it with beast wars tbh.
It's easy to forget about all those poor souls that haven't experienced Beast Wars, but then threads like this happen. Pity them, for they have not seen the light!
Is it ever mentioned in the Bayverse that Transformers are Robots in disguise? Because this guy ain't fooling anyone.
I had a (disturbing) thought - knowing how things can sometimes be...skewed...in the Bayverse, this may have been intended as the actual robot mode and not the alt mode.
The main cast turn into overly flashy vehicles and are on propoganda posters every where who cares about disguises?

I don't even particularly like the visual stylization of Transformers in the movies, but this Optimus Primal is beautiful.
Yeah, compared to the human, he's space ship sized!.....and still beautiful. Grodd who? Gonna have me a new wallpaper. Not sure how they would have worked Primal into the mix anyway... but it would have dragged a few BW fans to the theaters! Bwhahahaha.
Wait...there are Transformers IN Transformers movies? But what about all of the forgettable human characters? I mean isn't that why audiences flock to see this movies?
I know, crazy right? But seriously, it's been like 5 years since I last saw the first movie, and even longer since I last saw ROTF and I don't think I ever got a Scorponok toy. I remember most of the other Cybertronians that appear in the movies. but Scorpy just kinda slipped my mind
