I wonder if Shadow Fisher will be able to make this figure decent like they did with MP Ironhide and Ratchet. Like something to fix the sun visor things where they could be positioned correctly, or a face replacement to get the faces to sit higher, or new hood pieces to get it tabbed in better. Except to fix all of that would probably be like another $100, it seems like everything would need new pieces.

Yeah, the whole chest and abdomen tab in much tighter, and hold on a lot better!

Niiice. Mind sharing how you cut those notches in the ab tabs? Seems like a tough to reach spot for an xacto knife

Oh yeah for sure. I already have APS-01U, and have MB-11 preordered at TCP. But they got screwed on their first batch of Movie The Best figures, so now I'm just hoping they can still find some to fulfill their preorders. The unpainted dark gray on the MB-11 really grew on me.

(Still can't believe that I'm getting Prime before BB.....)

Sigh, what's new? "If you want to release it under the Masterpiece label, you've got to have Masterpiece standards." Harsh.

But all in all, he still recommends it as he really likes the robot mode.

It doesn't appear that's the case...or at least the case alone.

The red hood chest panels have clearly different tab locations from the Proto and the first reveal of the figure.

They changed this for some reason...

All these reviews have me second guessing whether I should get this guy. All the apparent QC issues have me thinking this guy is another MP Hotrod...

Anyone know why Emgo pulled his review for this guy? He had a review and a separate update to his review up this morning, but I only watched the update since I wouldn't have time for the regular review until now, but it's gone.

Nothing big, just a couple of things he forgot for the leg transformation that wasn't in the instructions.

He had skipped over a few minor leg transformation bits. The only thing I noticed about the review is that he kept saying it was the Takara version. I was under the impression that the Takara isn't out yet.

I have one picture I took I can post later if you need (but I don't think you will). It's pretty simple.

The window panels are on a hinge near the shoulder. If you look carefully you will see it. Turns out there is nothing holding the windows in besides that hinge and a couple small snap in tabs.

Take a small screwdriver or knife tip or something and sllide it in between the window and his chest, then gently lever it lose. It's possible you could scratch his chest paint doing this (I did the second time I opened his chest up)- but if you're repainting anyhow, that doesn't matter.

the windows won't swing all the way out of the way- but it's more than enough space to get a brush comfortably in there.

I used Tamiya gun metal and then added a tiny bit of gold detailing on those circles. let it dry- the Tamiya dries fast (like 5 minutes). Then close it back up.

For the chrome edging, find a sticker pack on chrome or buy reprolabels faction symbols on chrome backing- the take a ruler and hobby knife, razor blade, etc. and cut very thin straight strips off the edge of the sticker sheet. The thinner the better, in fact i wish i'd gone slightly thinner here. Then carefully apply the strips to the edges of the windows.

Since taking this photo I removed the bottom chrome edge as it made the window seem to small to me. I will probably paint the wipers also (haven't yet).

Hope this helps. The chrome is the hardest part, but also the easieest to redo if it comes out wrong.
