I like the show much better than Prime. It's frustrating that the toys are so hard to find (the good ones, not the million variations of one-steps).

I don't really watch TV anymore but I love the toyline. I appreciate the far more diverse vehicle modes for the Decepticons especially, moving from the cliche of Decepticon aircraft and tanks.

Its so frustrating. I've kind of stopped watching it. The show has become 5% story, 95% filler.
Always a generic/repainted con-of-the-week. The main villains of the series spend their time sneaking around doing nothing until the season finale (resulting in underwhelming results), and the characters are poorly developed (they'll be developed in an episode, only to be back to square 1 by the next episode). Any wit, creativity, or sense of fun this show once had died with season 1. After that, its all filler. At least when TFP or the films do filler its atleast fun and cool to look at, but this show?

I dare say that people per average either like it... Or simply don't dislike it. It's not like it's going to have a cult following, but it's doing well enough to keep it.

Have you watched season 3? It's intense and there's no filler so far :D .

Well, every episodes within this series is actually a filler anyway, lul.

I've watched it, yes. Each episode feels like 95% filler, 5% story. Seriously, when is Soundwave or the Council gonna show up? The plot of every episode is "New decepticon causes havok and so the Autobots fight and lock them up. Plus, the Autobots must re-learn a valuable lesson that has already been learned five times before."

Its a mundane, filler show at this point.

I tried to like it. I did. But:

    * Denny and his kid are annoying. Honestly, out of all of the cartoons the only one that I feel really nailed the human/TF interplay was G1. Yes, the dialogue was bad and occasionally the interactions were wooden, but I felt like Spike, Sparkpug, Chip, Carly and the like weren't intrusive. They helped, but they never seemed to get in the way or really cause too many headaches (Autobot Spike notwithstanding). More importantly, you could go entire episodes without them mattering. Conversely, it seems like you can't go an episode without Denny and his spawn donning a fake mustache and fooling the police/mayor/doctors/lawyers/the pope, etc.

    * Most of the Decepticons on the Alchemor seem mentally disabled. I'm sorry, but it seems less like "Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons", and more like "Autobots work overtime to corral the escapees from the short bus they crashed."

    * They are mangling the crap out of their own mythology. The Aligned continuity had some really neat plot points, especially with the concept of the 13 Primes. It set a nice stage that a solid showrunner could mine from for years. Instead, we get Micronus Prime who behaves like a cross between Yoda and a sack of hickory smoked horse buttholes and Megatronus "I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up" Prime who was basically a total hi and die villain. Megatronus is supposed to be Transformers Satan and he gets bumped like a chump in like two episodes.

    * Grimlock. Oh man, Grimlock. I get it. We all get it. He's fat, dumb, and clumsy. Everyone that is except Bumblebee, whose attempts to wrangle that lummox meet the standards of approximately half that of sleeping substitute high school teacher. Even Mikey Blumberg from Recess had more going for him than Grimlock.

If I sound unusually harsh towards this series, it's only because Transformers Prime felt much richer, and Rescue Bots has demonstrated far more character development despite being an unabashed kid's show. I feel like RiD15 doesn't seem to know what it wants to be and that might be why at least one of us feels it's a filler show, flopping around until something replaces it.

I dig it. It's not as good as Prime, but it's fun to watch.

2 of my kids LOVE it, especially my youngest daughter. I think it's safe to say it made her a fan for life. She even prefers I buy her TF instead of girl toys.

I stopped watching it. It was really paint-by-numbers. It has all the frustrating aspects of Prime ("We have to capture the Decepticon of the week!", just like "we have to find the relic / Predacon bone of the week!") but without the charms of Prime. (The toys are also terrible IMO.)

That said, do some people like it? Sure, definitely. It is better than Energon and Cybertron at least.

I want to like RiD but the show really has no idea what it wants to be.

I thought Steeljaw building his pack in season 1 was a cool antagonist arc going on while the Autobots dealt with various Decepticons of the week.

Then Megatronus Prime shows up claiming responsibility for the Alchemor crash and why the Primes were cool with Optiums coming back from the dead... so he wants to destroy Earth and Cybertron for vague reasons, implies he’s working for someone else nothing here is a deal breaker except the fact he’s never seen again after the season 1 finale.

Roll onto season 2 where instead of Megatronus we have this large Deception group lead by Glowstrike, Saberhorn, and Scorponok they seemed cool but were ultimately stepping stones for Steeljaw to reclaim his main bad guy status after being deposed by Megatron, that’s… ok I like Steeljaw.

Then they all get captured. Seems like a logical end to the series now the Alchemor prisoners are back in stasis but no.

Starscream showing up was cool but by this point the feeling I get is that each season of Robots in Disguise looks back on what came before with unwarented shame.

I do not like the main "teaching" of each episode- it is too ******ed, age regardless.
Beside it, the humour and adventures are quite good, in general- I wouldn't say I like each episode, but most of them are fine for me.

And I do not like that plot fiollowing most of the episodes- "Hello. This is a Decepticon. He will allow you to attack him as many times as it is needed for you to beat the Decepticon to coma condition, even though he, personnaly, hasn't really hurt you in any way".
If you ever spot any Autobot in the wild, start from tearing their limbs off. Just in case, you know: the Autobots are dangerous to be left otherwise. They are like Springload.

Apart it, I choose the first option- "I do like the show". This is why I have been watching it.

Up in (Canadian) Netflix, we only have RID up till season 3, episode 6 where Starscream attempts to power up from all of the minicons.

Slogging it out to 3rd season suggests I like it. I guess I do but I don't love it. There's enough decent animation and a storyline to keep things moving. I did miss out on whatever was going on with Megatronus as I wasn't paying much attention to the series at the end of season 1 (studying up on tattoo styles, flash, playing with robots, cooking, cleaning, etc...) As i'm not too invested in the series, I didn't rewatch any episodes. I'm generally okay with the sermons/teachings/takeaways at the end of the episodes. It doesn't bug me too much as long as I feel there's not too much holier-than-thou preaching on how to make amends with teammates, or learning from defeat in battle.
