Really good issue, with excellent art, I was worried this wouldn't have enough Transformers stuff in it for me to be interested but it exceeded my expectations. Glad to see Milne given some free reign with the panels, I'm loving the way he's drawing some of our favorite Decepticons.

Now this is how you do a crossover. The focus on character development is refreshing as is the use of established settings. (The Galactic Council and the war time setting.) It was also great to see Milne back doing what he does best. (was there ever a reason given as to why he's not on Lost Light?)

All in all a great read. I've be a fan of ROM since the Marvel days. I like the direction they are going with the character so far.

True. I forgot some of their retools for some reason. If thats the case then their Rodimus might work but so could their upcoming Drift.

Fair enough. I'm just saying it would work for tiny chibi version. Though maybe its best not to happen. It may be too cute for this universe.

Now if I were working for them and if she proved popular enough, what I would do is make a design based on her. Then for the retool, go with Strongarm. They're both bulky car ladies and the latter might turn into a breakout character. If not her then Firestar or another G1 lady.

I'd just be grateful if she lives and appears in later stories.

I'm no good at custom figures but I'm seriously thinking about recreating Stardrive's cute purple plush friend.

Let s see if she appears in comics after the end of the rom arc.

Hasbro could easily take a suv character, repaint it silver and create new head... Strongarm?

Totally agree. Between this and OP#9 Barber's having a very good run at the moment. I find he tends to be strongest at the start of a story or in individual issues, so I really hope he can maintain this standard and 'stick the landing'. Barber and Milne really made a great team on this, I think I'm really going to enjoy this series. It's great to see a story being set in this little explored post Cybertron being uninhabitable/pre Earth period and I really like the TF cast we've got. Old school Magnus and Starscream. Great choices. But I can't help but think that poor old Stardrive is a little doomed. I can't quite remember what issue the line of dialogue came from but I recall one of the Knights saying "you've seen what happens when a Wraith merges with a Cybertronian". I hope I'm wrong because she's such a sympathetic and enjoyable character but it does make you wonder where she is today.
But man, how lovely to see Alex Milne interiors again. We all talk about this being the Barber/Roberts/Scott era of TF comics but Alex has done so much to develop the vocabulary of how Transformers comics work, that I'd rank him alongside Geoff Senior. I'm not wishing him away from working on IDW but I really think (and hope) he should find some more 'mainstream' success. Alex Milne on JLA? I'd start reading it again.

Yeah, along with the fact that after the Wraith touched her she said it was the second time she'd been born- very ominous. She's a great and unique character as well so I hope she's not killed off.

I have to say when Barber does well I actually prefer him over Roberts. The humour/action/character moments are better balanced for me, with more unique character voices. I dropped OP over the last two issues but am considering picking it up again.

This was way cooler than I thought it would be. Definitely invested in this now.
Stardrive reminds me a bit of RID Strongarm, by the way.

So, I guess that the Galactic Council captain
is not the same dude as in MTMTE? Or do Dire Wraiths not have to kill their prey to take over their appearance?

Per Alex Milne, that's not K'gard; it's someone of a similar but distinct species, since K'gard was tall enough to tower over Ultra Magnus, while this guy is significantly shorter than Starscream.

Man, I've missed Milne. Kei Zama and Lawrence are pretty good, but Milne is still the best artist IDW has

Nice issue. I dont know much about ROM but i like it. Stardrives a good character whos very much a confused, lonely child. At the same time, shes reminding of Nautica when she was first on the Lost Light (and she had a ton of cute moments then). For me the best part was the art.
Anything drawn by Milne is golden and I loved the design for Starscream, back in his prime as it were. Going to look forward to more of this series.

Really enjoyed this, and how it's expanding both the TF and Rom corners of the universe. Stardrive's great, and I kind of hope we get to see more characters who aren't around in the present day anymore. Also pleasantly surprised at TF Online character appearances!

Enjoyed this quite a bit. My only objection is a petty one... someone named Stardrive should turn into a spaceship or spacejet of some type, not a car. Beyond that, loved the ish, love the new character. Hope she survives the experience!

If it's any consolation, her name does have "drive" in it.... which is car related.

They better not kill Stardrive by the end of this.

My hope is that the hints it is Stardrive who is infected are just red herrings. I think it more likely that Starscream will infect one of his grunts to create a Wraith-Cybertronian hybrid that will be the monster. For those asking "Where is Stardrive in the current day and age" there are plenty of Solstar Knights not around currently... would be easy for her to go to another planet for a while, maybe to discover who she is, where she came from?

Personally, my hope is that Stardrive not only survives but then shows up in the current Rom series to serve as an ally. Rom's human companions could use a mode of travel.

Wow. So this is a Barber space opera story. Definitely dig it. And I've always liked Milne on MTMTE, but you never really know what you've got until it's gone... and this was a totally delicious return for Mr. Milne. Really dig what's been set up. Also kinda dig the return to actual 'bot/'con conflict. Really really enjoyed this.
