From what I can TELL (as in, I haven't checked) it appears the weapons have a 5 mil diameter. I got the extra first release sword into PRID Optimus' hand.

After getting this in hand yesterday I definitely feel this is my preferred version of Prime in the AoE/LK body. The voyager is cool looking and absolutely nails the look of the shoulders better - but outside of that I kind of prefer everything else this leader offers. Plus, the poseability definitely goes up a notch without that stupid backpack. Only complaint I have is that I expected the figure to be able to hold the shield better with some sort of handle but all it does is plug into the socket on the forearms like the other shields do which makes posing with it awkward.

That sucks that AmazonJP wouldn't let us US people preorder this thing to possibly get a cheaper price over the past few months. I got mine from them for around $73 shipped on Friday, then it immediately went up a few dollars, and now it's even cheaper. I hate when I buy from Amazon and they do that.

Oi. I technically paid nearly twice that through US Amazon, but I purchased it with gift cards I received months ago that I hadn't found a use for yet. I knew I was overpaying about 30 bucks, but was fine with it. Dropping the price stings, though.

Either way, I love the figure. The panels can be a little frustrating, but after experiencing Berserker (whom I might never try transforming ever again) it's not that bad.

Amazon.co.jp is selling Caliber Optimus for 5500 yen ($50 USD). Probably the cheapest I've seen him.

    Mine's on it's way.

As an aside, doesn't Optimus still have his DOTM rifle, or Megatron's shotgun at least, in his new design? Wonder why that hasn't been made into accessory yet.

he's had the same gun since DOTM, it just turned into his shield after he got his sword from lockdown's ship.

Could've sworn I saw Prime use a rifle during TLK.

He had a hound style shot gun in TLK that popped out of his arm a couple times.

Come to think of it, the barrels on his shield gun do look pretty similar to those on his eliminator cannon (the official name of the gun he used in DOTM and evasion mode in AOE). Don't know why I never noticed that before.

So, mine came in today. First, a bit of shock.
Mine came with the Energon sword and the golden shield weapon. I thought both were exclusive weapons for the early release of the figure? I was surprised to see both. (I'm appreciative, but I've no real use for the gold weapon.)

As for the figure itself, incredible. This is the definitive Leader Class second trilogy figure. Hasbro's is an okay try, especially for the price, but this is completely worth the upgrade price. Fantastic looking, nice tight joints, clean lines and paint. Beautiful.

    Well worth the dough.

Honestly as naff as the base mold was I almost bit for $50 on Amazon japan. When you factor in the almost $30 of shipping though it becomes a big ol' pass. Going to keep waiting for the OS voyager.

    Dang. Lucky on the shield.

I'd buy one for less than they're worth. Really wish weapon packs were a thing in Transformers.
