Cant wait for mine to get here....3.75 inch is my preferred scale for action figures so to have a decent g1 megatron at that scale is amazing to me!

I think you mean the DX-9 one? and that's a very good question.

They seem to scale quite well together.

Just got mine today, these guys are freaking awesome. Anyone know if theres a shockwave and starscream of the same size and similar quality? These seem quite sturdy!

Thanks for that. I was appalled when I opened the doombringers recently, didn't realise the scale had changed from them to their seekers, which match the GT ones nicely.
Guess i need to pick the MFT ones instead.

The warbo shockwave kit goes quite well, as does the dx9 WIP seeker set.
The kit needs assembling and painting though (both the shockwave and megs here were the kit ones I've built and painted)

Iron factory have you covered with Bridgewatcher and their IDW-Y Starscream. There's also the DX9 'Scream if you want a spot on G1 Seeker. And yes, they are certainly sturdy.

This little pair of badasses showed up today, and they are pretty awesome.

    2017072114064010-picsay1.jpg

Megatron I've had in other forms for a while. I have the knock-off upsized Leader version, and a cheap knock-off of the dull gray, original, build your own Legends version. There's not a whole lot new about him to me.

He's got a great paint job that helps make his connections and joints stiffer than the two other versions of him that I have, though all three have needed the screw facing his head, in his left shoulder, loosened to allow his left arm to fully rotate at the shoulder.

Though he's a good bit taller, I will definitely be swapping him with my DX9 Megatron in my G1 Legends display. GT's proportions are far more imposing, and theirs features superior range of movement in the articulation that allows for more dynamic poses than DX9's Megatron.

Optimus is Incredible. He's so impressive that I'm fairly certain that I'm going to be collecting some other Autobots to go with him.

His robot mode is excellent, with great detail and lots of articulation. His vehicle mode is pretty sweet (though I don't understand the choice of headlight colors), and does a great job of hiding everything but his feet.

Transforming Prime is a little tricky, due to some small pieces that need maneuvered in small spaces when forming the front face of the truck. The swingarm that the front wheels are attached to makes me a little nervous because of its size, and I had a panel pop off a couple times while getting it into position, but thankfully there's nothing that I really worry about breaking.

All in all this is a really awesome set of figures, and easily the best set of instructions I've ever seen come with a Transformer. They are probably the largest in size for 3rd party Legends figures, but I think it's a fair trade-off for their great modes and articulation.

For roughly $60 for the set, I wish there was a little more to it. The money's definitely going to paint and parts-count on these two, but it would've been nice to at least get some box art instead of a black box.

I'll post a couple more pics after some paint and stickers.

    And now with paint!

Also an FYI: The purple inserts in the ends of Megatron's cannon can be popped out.

Pull on the rear section of the cannon, behind the middle box, to pull the rear off. Then stick something like a screwdriver in the hole and then push to pop the purple bit out. The front one you'll have to bore a hole into the middle of the purple part in order to get leverage on it to pop it out, but it'll come right out.

  Wow that looks so much better! I didn't realize how bad they needed some paint! Awesome job! It's a dang shame I can't paint worth a crap.

I would have preferred that they did not mold the silencer on the barrel for Megs so that the he would have a smaller barrel protruding at the back.

For legends-ish scale, this pack is severely lacking exposure. Think the higher price, due to the inclusion of an older Megatron mold, hurt interest in this set? The Optimus looks fantastic, but I personally wouldn't shell out $60 for it.

Technically this is the kit one not the leaders release but the message is still the same, actions have consequences

Got my set. They are amazing...ish. I'm not as much of a fan of Megs. He is good just not great. Optimus makes me happy I never caved on Hybrid Convoy. However I have a new problem. They are taller then I would like. I'm probably gonna need the KO Ultra Magnus now.
