I'm wondering the same thing myself Netkid. I was lucky to get the previous US TRU release which is quite different from Takara's MP10. It has a much lighter blue for the hands, legs, Roller, & trailer interior stations, Optimus' eyes are painted light blue instead of being left transparent/dead-looking dark blue, & the tiny truck-roof lights are painted yellow versus Takara's being left unpainted. Overall, the US TRU release was actually more cartoon accurate than the Takara MP10.

This new TRU Exclusive looks like the darker Takara MP Optimus from the promo pics so far, but I'd like to see out-of-the-box pics to confirm it.

That you are a brainless feel who will pay anything for a bit of cheap plastic.

Actually the price is for us here in europe pretty normal, we have been ripped of for decades here.

I didn't realize my wife works for Hasbro :)  you'd think she'd at least get me a discount!

I'm from Europe, moved out here a few years ago, I know well eu pricing. All too well.

Hasbro MP-09 was Rodimus Prime (minus the trailer but had the matrix and the Target Offshoot) and was famous for the busted arms upon opening and other bugs during transformation.

I honestly think they either purposely named it MP-10 because thats what the mold is so famously known as(and possibly to cash in on it) or someone just forgot how to count. Take your pick.

Thanks for you correction there @kaotika. Brain cells have gotten the numbering system mixed up as I'm used to the TT version and not the Hasbro one; too much confusion there.

Off the "MP-10" part of this and onto the "deluxe wave 5" part of this for a second....

Time for my usual complaint about Hasbro's crap distribution system, where the entire size class for a toy line has the same product code the brick & mortar stores use for reordering & restocking... In the past this has made the 2nd-to-last wave (typically a "wave 5") DIFFICULT to find, and the last wave (typically a "wave 6") pretty damn-near IMPOSSIBLE to find. [For reference, i'm in upstate NY.]

As of this posting, I've seen wave 4 very sparsely, (titan masters in one store, deluxe Krok in another with no sign of his wavemates, both voyagers in a Target but not at the same time). So if i were a fortune-teller, i'd say the end of TR around here is either going to be W4 finally saturates, with some W5 sprinkled in for seasoning, or W4 gets left behind for W5. Either way, W6 i can tell is not going to happen. As Kup would say "Experience lad! You should learn to appreciate it!!"

*Sigh* this is why i've switched to BBTS... saves so much gas $ and frustration... don't get me wrong, if i happen to be in a B&M store i'll take a peek thru the TF aisle, but it's 99% disappointment...

Hasblow replies: "What distribution problem? :D "

I sincerely hope 20 people repeat your story at Hascon and ask for an explanation. They can only dodge the question so long, right? Nah, I'm sure they'll have security pulling people out of the room for asking such a trolling question! :thumb

I am wondering the same thing. I personally like Takara over Hasbro but I'm curious to see if anything was altered. I hope it's identical but I doubt it.

It's a nice thought, but I'm sure Brick & Mortar stores could really give a crap about which wave of toys are on the shelves, so long as something is there. To them, it's super-convenient to have a single # to re-order a size class of a toy when it's running out, instead of having to change #'s for every size class of every toy group every 3 months.... In the sales pecking order, collectors are waaaaay at the bottom, with confused grandparents and parents of screaming kids ("I WANT A TOY NOW!!!!") at the top.

I wonder how LEGO manages to do it though... EVERY LEGO toy has a unique barcode and shelf space... and is re-ordered independent of every other LEGO toy...
