Will wait for Thundercracker and Skywarp. Starscream is too iconic a character to not have Decepticon symbols tampoed.

 

Who cares... And why try to lump people into categories? Just to talk shit? Just to keep propagating the "us vs them" mentality? People don't have to like all of one thing, or see things just the way you do. And people are definitely not as black and white as we often try to see them as.

I like this Starscream. I hate the XTB Stunticons. I like the Takara Grapple, I hate the Takara Inferno. OMG! Toon asthetic hypocrisy!

Let's just enjoy the things we like together.

And I really miss the shin thrusters (plus some much needed details on his pelvis and the rest of his body).

 

i wish the vents on either side of his head pivoted forward like they do for mp-11. i love maketoys and the added articulation, especially the ankle tilt that's missing from mp-11, but i'm not feeling the ultra toon look with no panel lining whatsoever - looks so plain imo...

Wish the face was painted light grey so we could see it. Doesn't look bad to me, maybe just time as others have noted.

 

Yeah, that's kinda bugging me as well.

 

Color shots make it more obvious that they should have molded some actual shin thrusters where those blue trapezoids are.

I love how they managed to cover the cockpit details while maintaining a clear canopy... that is to assume we WILL have cockpit details in jet mode. Can't see an MP jet with no attempt at an actual pilot seat and instrument panel.

And the top of the jet nose... not sure how a con symbol would be applied with all those panels and hinges.

 

I'm still not sure how to feel about this. Maybe I'm too used to seeing Starscream with molded detail that I think this guy looks too plain. Sometimes the super g1 cartoon aesthetic works, other times it doesn't. How is anyone even able to complain about the head sculpt itself when you can't even see his face.  

 

Is this a new trend in Japan or something else?It's all started with UM and unfortunately still continuous.

 

I'm not able to judge the face sculpt - 'cause I really can't differentiate it from the rest of the head. It's just...black. Maybe if he'd smile we could see his teeth.   The rest looks spot on.

 

Glad I waited for the seekers in my collection. These are perfect for me.
