I assume they only made a limited number of the initial run of figures for Tokyo Toy Show, and need time to make more for the expanded production run. TT really underestimated the demand for this guy.

Ugh. So I decided against and AE order (that would have been at least $80 US for me) when I saw that TFSource had it back on preorder for November, at $90. I use TFSource for some items, as they do not charge me tax and have free shipping at $150+.

I was conflicted, but went ahead and placed the preorder to my stack. I mean, I've got until November, right?

Nope. Just got the in-stock notice. So I guess Black Convoy will be joining my collection      

 

Yeah, that was weird. I ordered it as a pre-order for October a few days ago. But I was charged immediately and today got the shipping notification. Well, okay then!! Seems abrupt but whatever. Guess I'm getting it ALOT sooner than later...

Just got mine today, it is an awesome toy. no stickers, only paint apps, and that blue pops for this mold

Nemesis was a great display piece but just so so finicky to transform. I feel like about half of the Maketoys figures I've handled are that way. I ultimately sold mine and I admit I miss it a little - I like the idea of having no less than three different black primes from a single third party company - but between the 2012, 2015 and 2017 Tokyo Toy Show Black Convoys, and honorary Black Convoys SDCC 2008 Nemesis Prime and Generations legends Nemesis Prime and tiny legends Motormaster, I don't know that I really need to add 3P to the Black Convoy shelf.

(I am still hoping to get a Grand Scourge for the collection one day, and I'm also hoping we wind up with a black repaint of LG35 Ginrai eventually... I think I have a problem).

 

I wanted a Grand Scourge too, but man I have trouble justifying 3P prices for Hasbro molds.
