Very bizarre but I'm interested. Should have been a Dragon Ball crossover instead though.
At least one person will get the joke.

To be fair, anything is better than that thing.

It's really not though. Do a few seconds of reading and you'll see that Nezha is referred to as "he", not "she".

That, and this is a "character" who has been around for... well, far longer than either of us have been alive, that's for sure. He's at least a thousand years old and, given his Chinese roots, quite possibly well over 2000 years old. So even if "he" was a "she", this isn't Marvel Comics making everyone a female and/or racial minority.

Considering the countless number of times that Chinese mythology has been adapted both into Chinese and general Asian stories (especially in Japan) as well as manga, anime, video games and God-only-knows how many other things, I really think this one character having a crossover with Transformers would be the least of your worries.

You might want to go back several hundred years and start demanding that nobody writes stories about Chinese mythology, for starters.

It is reasonable to expect that as Hasbro sees China as a greater market for Transformers, that Chinese culture and mythology be intertwined with the Transformers story. Or are you also not ok with the corruption of other cultural mythos? Examples, Hoover Dam in 2007 Transformers, Ancient Egypt and the Middle East in ROTF, Moon Landing in DOTM, Dinosaur extinction in AOE, King Arthur and WWII in TLK. Hasbro is rewriting "history" across the globe, why exempt China?

If you want to delve into Chinese mythology - give us a Four Heavenly Beasts combiner! That would be awesome!

And btw Nezha is not female. He's a male but has always been depicted by female actresses even in Chinese live action movies/tv.

TFW2005 stated the god was a HE, so I'm not sure what girl you're referencing. To be fair, though, that is definitely the prettiest male god I've ever seen (in story pic). I had no idea male deities in China wore lipstick.

Didn't you know? All Chinese deities were secretly Cybertronians all this time.

The Chinese seem to be pretty aware of the confusion concerning Nezha. At least one Chinese film made a joke about it, even (a character expressed confusion over Nezha and asked the Monkey King if Nezha was a boy or a girl, he responded by saying girl). He ranges from looking like a somewhat effeminate boy to being easily mistaken for a girl. And yes, sometimes he's portrayed looking like he's wearing lipstick.

I'm not sure how this idea is going to work, or even what they're going to do (for all we know it's just going to be a toy or something and nothing else).

Americanized Chinese food is stupid. Its corrupting REAL Chinese food. Everyone should stop celebrating Chinese New Year too. While we're at it get rid of fireworks too.

Yeah no. This is okay. Nothing wrong with this kind of stuff.

Didn't you get the memo? Chinese people can't be real Transformers fans (for reasons) and this is just more pointless pandering. If it's not the status quo, then I feel threatened by change I don't even understand and so I feel the need to rabble-rabble-rabble!

On a less facetious note, I'm not too familiar with the mythology of Nezha myself but I recall seeing this deity in a few of the old Chinese movies and serials that my parent would watch back in the day.

And my first thought when I saw the OP's image of Nezha had nothing to do with his/her gender but rather with the wheels on the feet, and thinking, if they're going to incorporate Transformers into this then why not a Sideswipe design (from the Bay movies) so Nezha can zoom around like a boss? :D

Probably TF nezha will getting worse. What does nezha look like. His WO3 design mostly likely robot or either cyborg.

    Interesting.

Well, if the Thirteen Primes took Holomatter avatars and wandered around the world...

If the Avengers can sign up a Norsk god then the Transformers franchise should have no problem signing up a Chinese god.

As mythology goes, he killed himself to save his town from the dragon lord of the east sea, and his Creator reincarnated his spirit inside a cyborg (lotus flower really, that explains the lipstick), with rocket boosters under his feet and the ability to grow two extra heads and four additional arms as needed - would be fun if done right.

That first image that was posted looked like something from Sailor Moon. Though I wasn't thinking anything about girl power bs, that's just sexist to think that just because a character is female. Why does having more female characters in fiction have to have some kind of femistist agenda? Calm down dude.

Anyway my first thought was that having a Transformers Sailor Moon crossover was a stupid idea.

Then after reading some of the other comments and seeing some of the more robotic designs, I actually stated to like this idea.

Though I'm not really a big fan of the whole gender confusion thing. Don't we already have enough of that with Airazor, Override, Red Alert, Strongarm, and the very manly looking Strika just to name a few... not to mention GALvatron and how common it is for Male characters to be colored in Purple which is generally seen as a feminine color. Plus the fact that it doesn't really make sense for robots to have genders in the first place. There's enough gender confusion in this franchise already. Oh and should I bring up the fact that even the name of our fandom is gender confused... Trans fans... suppose to be short for Transformers but could easily be misunderstood to mean something else entirely. I think we've got enough gender confusion as it is without introducing a male character commonly mistaken to be female.
