I would not wish anything bad on this franchise because as the saying goes be careful what you wish for you may get it and everything else that goes along with the wishing part

Given the option between watching TF-5 or Spiderman Homecoming... I'd go with Spiderman Homecoming. It's actually a great movie, and it deserves the additional IMAX screens. TF-5 like TF-4 was another huge disappointment. I was really hoping we would get something at least close to DoTM, which like TF-5 was releasing after a disappointing film in RoTF but that didn't happen. I watched all 4 films again in the days leading up to TF-5, really hoping for a decent release, but unfortunately that was not the case. Honestly, after watching the series again, I found myself thinking that RoTF wasn't all that bad, at least when compared to AoE and TLK, which is saying something.

Somehow with their elite writers room they managed to write the worst script yet; it was borderline incoherent at times, with gaping plot holes, while ignoring huge plot devices from prior films. The good news is that the Bumblebee stand alone film will be directed by Travis Knight, so we should finally get a TF movie with some depth to it. Then hopefully with TF-6 we get a new director, and this franchise can get back on track...

    Yeah, homecoming was absolutely fantastic.

It's a shame that the movie with depth is going to be a solo one. I wonder how much history is going to get rewritten.

Why they don't reboot is just dumb at this point.

Because to reboot would to only amplify the obvious: Paramount has NOTHING to content with the current market trends of Cinematic Universes.

Not only is IMAX done for now (unless it has a final limited run in August or something), but I saw it today, and had a hard time even finding a theater near me that still shows TLK at all.

Overall, I think the film is doing great, considering the drop off in screens, and the amount of big summer movies near it's theater run.
