Possibly, though not likely. Hasbro is probably doing a Wave 3.5 like AOE had for many figures.

Perhaps that elusive unknown listed deluxe could also be released with Cogman in a wave three-point-five switcheroo. I hope that they won't do anything completely ridiculous and replace Crosshairs and Bee with the new-ish guys, but I'm already more into getting deluxe Cogman based on images alone than I was on getting Lockdown or AoE Bee minus the packed-in Legends repaint after reviews. There's also a chance that the mystery deluxe is something completely glorious such as Dreadbot or Onslaught...but it may also be something like Snarl. Hasbro's a double-edged sword these days: TR is killing it, but Movie stuff is inconsistent, at best.

I really hope that is true!

I can just see Paramount going back to Hasbro and bitching; "hey we never had a scene where that character ripped off another robots head to replace it. Plus Cogman never transformed to and fro to a car. What are you guys thinking? Take that off the shelves NOW, that was never in the movie!!!"

Unknown Deluxe's code name turns out to be Hot Rod's, so either he was originally intended to be a general retail release before Hasbro decided to make him a Walmart exclusive, or there will be a general retail version down the road.

Oh. That's news to me. That means that, theoretically, if the deluxe does turn out to be Hot Rod and is sent to shelves with Cogman, that'll be another figure with Lockdown's basic skeleton released in a post-wave wave(first being Lockdown himself).

You can see a listing for Flip & Change "Saturn Rings" in the initial post in this thread. We know of Flip & Change Hot Rod, and "Saturn Rings" was the code name from the mystery Deluxe listing from Toys"R"Us.

All I can hope is that Wave 3.5 just includes the last of the Decepticon Suicide Squad with Hot Rod and Cogman..

*sigh* Why make him a Walmart exclusive in the first place? What is going on with Hasbro right now? If that Hot Rod comes with weapons, I'll just wait but come on. Why the exclusive..? :banghead:

But how could Hasbro afford to give the character named after a (beloved?) G1 character who had some of the most robot screentime in the feature film accessories when they're wisely investing their assets into ground-breaking masterpieces like Mega-One-Step Dragonstorm?

By virtue of being wave 3.5 it'll literally be a revision of wave 3. I.e. replacing Drift with Cogman, otherwise it'd be a whole new wave 4, Hasbro have said that everything revealed is the lot for the TLK Premier Edition, though there will be more new movie figures coming in future (which is pretty vague).

I imagine at this rate, 'more movie figures' means nearly unchanged figures from previous toylines such as the upcoming Leader Prime reissue or the Bumblebee three pack. I would, however, pledge my allegiance to our toy-making overlords at Hasbro if the sub-movie lines had new moulds, even if they sucked testicular wrecking balls.

Ha! It's even more pitiful than I imagined! Baltmatrix here sounds even more depressed than usual, and it isn't because of loose hip joints this time.

Any 'new-wave-case' that can possibly contain that is cursed.

One could probably buy Voyager Nitro, Megatron, AND Scorn for that price! Please pay respects to this man who has sacrificed his wallet for our viewing.

It's always fun to watch reviewers complain about one-steps as if they didn't know what they were getting when they bought it.

And let's be real here, Balt complains as if he didn't know what he was getting into for damn near everything these days. I used to watch him quite a bit, but I've slowly drifted away because of that. I don't wish to start a reviewer war here, it's just an observation.

Ah yeah I forgot about those, though I'm sure they said more new moulds. But that could just mean new figures got the movie next year.

New moulds would be fantastic, regardless of quality. It'd be good to see a movie promise carried out (a.e. TLK stuff with Megs/Prime backstory,Churchill's relevance, tying previous movies together), but it'd be even more fantastic to see new toys a while after the movie release. I just fear that Hasbro's talk of new figures is hogwash, as toy-oriented promises have been dropped before (namely with the BH upscales). It would be splendid if those post TLK releases included never-released figures (DotM stuff) and/or characters that deserved figures but never got any (Constructicons, movie-accurate AoE Vehicons, the rest of the TLK Decepticons). I've got hopes and concerns for Hasbro doing movie guys after movies, as I'm not sure if the budget-restricted designers of today could do anything to the degree of HftD. That line was amazing.
