they got the colors wrong  

EDIT: The two pack of Frenzy and Laserbeak were my first transformer toys. I got them a few weeks before the very first episode of the cartoon ever aired. So, for me, Frenzy will ALWAYS be blue

Side note: even in Sunbow's character sheet notes, Rumble is red and Frenzy is blue. They acknowledge the mistake in the first episode but it would have cost too much to re-record the lines to change the name. So, there.

There's a long-standing debate over which of the Frenzy/Rumble brothers is blue, and which one is red, largely due to animation errors in the G1 cartoon.

I'm like a pre-emptor of the original toy line and the Japanese version, I declare: RIR!

 

At least Hasbro (and TT) is staying consistent with blue G1 Frenzy toys. Licensed products like this and the statues can do what they want. The only time we almost had a blue G1 Rumble toy, it got canceled.

Statues aren't my cup of tea, however.

Frenzy is red. Rumble is Blue.

And there is a perfectly good reason Frenzy would be the red one.

Think of the name, Frenzy. What color is usually associated with chaos, frantic, crazy or wild? Red.

Rumble fits blue far better. While blue is technically a calm color, the word rumble isn't necessarily chaotic. A rumble of thunder isn't chaos, the crack of lightening is. Even an earthquake, which is Rumble's ability isn't chaos. It, usually, starts slow and builds up.

Nothing will ever convince me Frenzy should be blue when the color and word are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

 

I never understood all the drama over the colors. If I'm referring to the US cartoon, I'll call Rumble the blue-ish purple one. If I'm referring to the toys, most comics, Japanese cartoon, and pretty much everything else, I'll call Rumble the red one.

If this statue is called Frenzy and it's red, it's clearly referencing the G1 cartoon. And that's ok.

 

I'm so happy to see someone else uses the exact same reasoning I do! I've never even watched the G1 cartoon, but have always thought red Frenzy and blue Rumble made way more sense than the other way around.

 

I\'d laugh if the \"free statue\" was a cast-metal, expertly painted, 1-1 scaled regular audio cassette in frenzy\'s colours...
