Nice to see the Lost Light crew again... that is, Getaway and co. Rodimus\'s reaction to the name last issue makes me wonder what will happen when they meet again.
Seriously, those First Strike covers... when did very badly designed \"original character, do not steal!\" fan characters start appearing in official comics? Whatever the heck that purple femmebot with the cat ears is, her design reeks of fan-made character.
Not-RID-Optimus Prime-whatever: Ooooh, Slide is angsty and leaves the team! The horror! The shocking development! That in 2017 we are reading a comic about a micromaster combiner character nobody ever cared about, just boggles the mind. And I LIKED micromasters. Never thought I would say one day I want to see anything but this story.

 

Huh. Oh well, the series is obviously building up to some epic confrontation with whatever that "Prepare. Confront. Repel." group is, be it the Knights or not.

 

And that's the biggest problem with this series since season 2. It just feel directionless, like Roberts has no idea where he's going and it's been showing for awhile.

 

He's got an idea, but unfortunately the idea is always going to be the journey and not the destination. Like in Red Dwarf, the "plot" is just a backdrop for the humor and quirky character moments which are the actual point of the book. For some readers, that's a beautiful and enjoyable formula. For others, it's going to be incredibly frustrating.

 

The Protectobots are back!!! YEAH, baby! I\'m dancing around right now, no kidding.

... ah great I\'m probably gonna feel the need to buy a TR Getaway just to oppose the First Aid and Co. on my shelf.

Seriously though, I\'m way into this. Curious to see how Roberts handles the team\'s dynamics after forming Defensor months ago. Have they bonded like brothers? Are they having trouble filtering their thoughts now? Also is First Aid in charge even though Hot Spot forms the torso? So many questions!

I believe you both are referring to the "upgraded" Shazraella, who appears to have Enerchanged with a Cybertronian.

 

Yeah holy crap I was just about to edit the same question into my previous post! I really wanna see what sort of characterization Roberts can give that fella. Maybe an amateur soldier, but competent and perky like Strongarm in RiD. Or strong and silent like Roller. I can barely contain this excitement.

 

From his bio it describes Rook as a astute and brave officer. Closest I can see is him being compared to is Skids but I am most likely off by a mile.

 

Oh ok. I'm not well versed in that character so I don't know much about her.

 

Well, Shazraella is usually MUCH smaller.

 

Quite honestly, since I have the cast of Rescue Bots as the "voices" of the IDW Protectobots, I'm hoping Rook is Chase-like.
