I dont mind the hunt. All I had to do was call a couple of trus and ask when they are getting shipment, usually one of them knows an exact day. When you learn of the day just show up at 6 am or 5 am like I had to for grimlock.

They have to be thinking, there's still money being shelled out for the mp10 mold, for both the oversized mpp10 and the Voyager scaled mpp10v. If they keep the official mp10 out on shelves they can get a chunk of that cash from people who would never buy a KO when the official product was still available.

Dunno.. TRU is such a different scenario since it's domestic retail. People buying oversized KOs and importing really aren't the same. TRU has barely stocked or dedicated shelf space to these figures the last few cycles. I'm not even sure why they wouldn't just offer it as an online exclusive and save everyone the headache... or make it a SDCC type release.

I too bought various MP-10 versions (YOTH, KO) because the Takara and Hasbro versions weren't available... then both got reissued and I got both :)  Still think the WJ MPP-10 version is the best I have. I have YOTH, CK KO MP-10, TT Covoy, Hasbro Asia MP-10, TT MP-10B, WJ OS MPP-10

...and even that is a crapshoot as you can get your order in and have them cancel it with no explanation or call you stating that they oversold the item. The latter happened when I tried buying Starscream on TRU's website.

May as well add a random comment in here because this thread is blowing up faster than I can read through it.

I already have a Takara MP-10 from 2015, so I will not be on the hunt for the TRU version, regardless of the price. This guy has been reissued numerous times, but as long as more fans are able to snag him, I guess that's a good thing. I don't need my MP-10 to be worth massive cash, because I plan to enjoy him, not use him for my children's college fund.

What are people thinking the accessories will be for barricade?

Personally I'd go with frenzy, his mace from the first movie, and maaaaaaaayve the interrogator eyes. They could also include his DOTM pistol, but I think that'll be saved for a later edition.

Not a place holder if anything the price will go up. With the original release in 2012 when I found one in my area I found it at $120 a few weeks after the initial release, not the $100 it launched at. A week later I went back Christmas shopping with none on the shelf just the tag at $140. This was not the first time I've seen them change prices like that and hasn't been the last. If you find one and you want it pick it up on sight at the $159.99 because it wont stay on the shelf long and if anything the price will only go up.

Why go through all the trouble when you can get one delivered from BBTS now for the same price? It looks the same to me, just trying to understand.

Better yet, TRU was selling them (MP-10) through eBay too and they'd immediately relist every one they cancelled. They'd do this multiple times while eBay ran interference wiping out the bad feedback they were rightfully receiving. This is why you can't take anything the big players say seriously; it's incompetence piled on malice piled on cretinism all the way down.

Yeah it does look the same as the first release. To me that's a shame if it had a black nemesis prime paint job, or even if they just painted it with flames to give it a movie prime vibe I'd pick another up. Your right there are other and better ways to go about getting it than trying to find it at tru at that price it would be better just ordering it online from bbts or someplace else as you said. For anyone hoping to find it at tru though for whatever reason best advice is to pick it up when you see it because chances are you wont see it in store again, and its a better bet that if by some chance that you do if anything the price will only go up not down.

Actually, if I really wanted to set people off...

Back in 2012, the real MP-10 (Takara) was $250 and climbing. When Toys R Us somehow managed a preorder (welcome to the 21st century Geoffrey!), I jumped on it. As the cancel-relist-cancel-relist drama unfurled, I reordered every time I saw it was up. Amazingly, I ended up with all of them.

Now, you'd think I would've been able to get my $106 back out of each of them but you'd be wrong. People saw this bungling going on and knew that TRU aided/employed scalpers. Yet, many were steadfast in their belief that this same operation would deliver them a coupon coinciding with a local (re)stocking. This would surely occur right after the Great Pumpkin and Santa Claus teamed up to free the Easter Bunny from Darth Vader. Needless to say, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth for months afterward. I sold off a couple over the years but a couple are still in a closet buried under God knows what. BBTS has had them in stock and on the front page forever too.

People are _so_ particular about getting a specific price at a specific time from a specific vendor. Do they want the actual toy for their collections or do they just want free shipping and a TRU receipt? Sometimes it's really hard to tell. I can't imagine what it must be like to have so few availability problems that I could fixate on such details.

I have been saving a few TRU gift cards (just got another for Fathers Day) so I am all in on trying to find this in store... these stories fill me with dread, but I must own a Masterpiece Prime.

The DC in Rialto California apparently got their order in a few days ago. Not sure when they'll start sending them out to stores.
