It is hard to make something "good" and yet profitable... Sad but true

    My bad then.

I get where you're coming from. The thing though is that I'm not trying to force my own personal opinion, I'm merely making my statement based on an observation of what I see in the general cultural consensus. Which is that Michael Bay is bad, and the TF films are bad. Believe me, I really want to defend these movies...In fact I've tried...Somewhere along the lines though I had to accept defeat and face reality. The movies are not just bad, they're unpopular. It is socially unacceptable to be a fan of these movies...Like putting pineapple on pizza...No one can rightly defend it, no mater how much you think it tastes good. Just all the more reason people will look at you with disgust.

Indeed. But one can at least hope for generally "acceptable".

That's the thing we tend to not want to face, that all the hate does not in fact come from just entitled man children. As I've stated, the TF films are culturally and socially panned as bad films as a general consensus.
An example of the opposite would be the Force Awakens. There are a good number of people who have problems with that movie, to the point of stating that it is in fact a bad film. But the general consensus is that it was good. It's popular. It's socially acceptable to say one is a fan of that movie. Although time will tell, if they screw up the sequels the whole thing may end up crashing down.

I don't think that's entirely true or AOE wouldn't have made more than the budget domestically. There's definitely an audience who enjoys these movies. It depends on who you surround yourself as I've never heard anyone in real life say they hate the Transformers movies. Usually, the real life consensus is that they're fun (and that they like Bumblebee). Only on the internet I've heard such negative backlash.

By the way, I want a reboot too, but I can't see it happening.

What sort of cultural backbone is required to have a worthy insight on a Transformers movie?

    Uh. What?

    Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2?
    The Rock?
    Armageddon?
The Island? (and yes, it did surprisingly well at the box office and even had some critical success.)
    Pearl Harbor?

He's worth 500 million dollars (you can Google it), he doesn't NEED these movies. He can literally wipe his crack with a million dollar check and not even feel the sting. The movies need him, not the other way around.

This. People always overlook the producers and the writers, it's always just Bay's fault. People forget that Steven Spielberg has his name and seal of approval stamped on this franchise.

Well, then they need to climb down off of the stick that's wedged up their behinds, shave their necks, get some sunlight and see that their world ain't so bad, especially compared to the situations experienced by countless others around the world. Quit complaining about movies based on toys, quit taking it out on Michael Bay and realize how incredibly fortunate you are that all you have to do is complain about some movies. Such ingrates. If life is that bad, make it better, quit bringing it here because y'all too afraid to say or do anything outside of the internet.

When did they ever successfully bust balls? Lame jokes don't really qualify. And this is precisely what I'm talking about. Same thing, over and over for a decade. It's incredible that these people have that much stamina. Perhaps they'd find a mate if they used that stamina in other departments, as well. (And surprise, surprise, I'm not talking about sex! There's more to being with people than physical contact and intimacy.) And if they have mates, perhaps they'd save them the misfortune of having to hear them whine with their cheese.

I don't know for sure whether Bay will be back or not, I can't say he's telling the absolute truth because he's made this promise before, but he won't be leaving 100% anyway. He's still a producer.
