If you combine & remove paint apps seen on both Hasbro or Takara's exclusive figures, then you could make a quality premium level figure.

I like that this one has the flames on his chest.

Agree. But that is pretty much it. Well obviously the shield and sword are reprinted which are nice. But comparing the truck model I can't tell much different. And what's up with the blue collar??? That's not movie accurate. And his feet are still plain white, the optics are still... Maybe I have a much higher standard for a "SDCC exclusive."

I can live without the shoulders being painted as there are the blue sections attached. The red's there on the CG model, though it connects with more red flames on the legs.

But it's still first as in 'most important', 'highest tier', 'the best' in the uses that you have quoted, not first as in chronologically first. The hotel chain Premier Inn doesn't mean it was the first hotel chain to exist (not that we should take their word that they're the best lol). The people who are misunderstanding are those who are reading it as 'premiere' and thinking they're some kind of first edition.

So the Western Star tire piece thing - does that mean this is a licensed Prime?

I recall that for the first movie trilogy they basically did their infamous legal fudging of the Peterbilt.

Regardless of what this toy is labeled, it still has an inaccurate paint job.

I get it though, yawn yawn blaaaaaaaaaaaaa accurate paint job in some platinum set next year or year of "insert Chinese zodiac animal here" exclusive.

So help me get this all straight. Is this a voyager or leader class use of the mold?

That AOE Leader Class mold is getting used how many times?
    1) AOE Leader Class Optimus
    2) AOE Leader Class Optimus (Takara Version)
    3) TLK Leader Class Optimus
    4) TLK Leader Class Optimus (Shadow Spark)
    5) TLk Leader Class Optimus (Takara Calibre Prime)
    6) TLK Leader Class Optimus (Battle Damage)

    7) TLK voyager class Optimus

Is there any other version I don't know about? Seriously trying to figure out which version is the best two versions to get.

    This is a voyager

Most accurate ones are the Takara movie ticket one and Calibur Optimus.

Your definitely right about the inaccuracies and that sucks, but we don't know that yet IN HAND, this 'could' look alot better. These ARE Hasbro pics were talking about. :lol  But TakaraTomy does the face, &most importantly the EYES, better and looks more authentic.

    DEFI NOT! ;)

Do you own the new movie toys? They are good build quality not rhe cheaper plastic and build quality of Titans Return where you DO need nail polish for balljoints but NOT TLK figures! They ARE solid figures! ;)

Takara's Dark colour scheme looks the best although the SDCC arguably has more accurate/classic colours.
(not even going to entertain the idea of standard release)
I just ordered Caliber Optimus so do I still need this mould?

I think the worst decision is the red plastic on the sides of the truck, vrs. blue plastic, that creates the silhouette behind Primes chest /on his back, in bot mode!

Wait, which is the third one with the darker color scheme? The SDCC or the Takara? Whichever it is, I like that one.

The third one's the limited Takara version only available with ticket presales in Japan (the regular Takara version is the same as the Hasbro standard release but is TRU exclusive).

I'm afraid I have to agree - I'm okay with the color inaccuracies in robot mode, but the fact alone that this one has painted hubcaps and the general release doesn't is a slap in the face.

You are right, I studied the official image once more. Prime has a sparkly paint scheme of sorts on his door that doesn't match with his top cab. Again, we'll see how that translates to in hand images, but so far not too good :lol

Is this to be the only Transformers exclusive for SDCC this year? I don't remember them making announcements piecemeal in previous years and it's getting pretty close to show time to still have items left to reveal.
