As nice as it is, I can't go for it when the voyager figure is much better.

This mold isn't great but you've got to applaud TakaraTomy for at least trying (twice - Armor Knight and Caliber) to do something special with it for their own market.

This guy looks amazing now, I'm glad they made the changes. Hopefully they do a Nemesis version.

yes i realize this response is a week late idk whats wrong with me

    Sorry, I guess I could've elaborated a bit.

If I bought Caliber Prime, I'd probably never display him with his shield, since my OCD would never allow it. It'd just end up being a hunk of plastic that never gets touched until I want to transform Prime. Even if I sanded down the shield's handle to fit my APS01-U's hands to give it to the right Prime, it'd still be pointless as I already own the UFO version of that shield. That means I'd have a Prime that unnecessarily partsforms for the sake of making a shield - that I already own a superior version of - that goes to a totally different figure. And although APS01-U comes with an inaccurate shield of its own, that one's still useful because it's also an upgrade for the vehicle mode. The caliber shield on the other hand is both 100% necessary and 100% unnecessary at the same time because it forces you to not lose the accessory you don't even want or else ruin the vehicle mode when you could just get the alternate version of that same figure that just keeps all of the kibble on its body. I do wonder if they at least tried to make the shield based off the correct one, I would definitely forgive the figure for the inaccuracy if they did and it just wasn't feasable. (though I still wouldn't buy it)

Also, I feel pretty confident that I could modify AoE Leader Prime's backpack to be compact enough for me to be satisfied. If I bought the Caliber Prime, the shield would just get in the way of that. I'd have to either totally undo the gimmick (and probably end up ruining the poor shield in the process) to be able to un-partsform him, or just settle for him actually being a partsformer. And at that point, I might as well replace the shoulder and hip kibble with accurate armor too, since he's partsforming anyway. And at that point, I might as well just buy the DMK, since it'd be much more accurate.

As for the Armor Knight not having accurate weapons either, I do already own the Dr. Wu version of the Sword of Judgement. (though I honestly can't even remember when or why I bought it) Also, having a translucent orange Sword of Judgement would be kinda neat anyway since it was orange in the trailers for AoE. The shield that comes with the basic Leader Prime is actually inaccurate too; it's supposed to have the DOTM shotgun inside it, but whoever designed the figure's shield had a reference image at an angle and ended up misinterpreting the details as though they were flat and only molded one side of the details.* I'd rather just take my Dr. Wu Voyager sized shotgun (it's perfectly sized for the one in the shield) and add the shield parts on top of it myself, but I'm debating on giving it the ability to open up and expand or just slapping on the shield parts from the AoE shield.

...So I really would rather just have the Armor Knight Prime due to everything above. I do honestly think Caliber Optimus Prime's shield is really, really cool, but it's just not for me. I'm glad that all of you can enjoy him, though. :)

I don't understand why they couldn't find a way to have the shoulder/roof pieces fold onto the back and have new more accurate shoulder armor take it's place. It's feasible, but I guess just not on their list.

meh. I got a better mold and in voyager scale to boot.

I´m convinced and preordered one. I might get the voyager at a later date, but since I don´t like the fact it lacks wrist swivels, so won´t make a priority. I think that wrist swivels should be mandatory in tfs that have melee weapons.

I guess they were inspired by customs since 2014 where fans made the backpack detachable to clean up the robot silhouette. I remember a few guys here customized theirs that way.

Not sure I like that the entire rear end of the truck becomes the shield, but I guess they had to get rid of the backpack some how.

Will any retailers be offering this to the USA? Amazon Japan wouldn't allow me to preorder it, and I haven't seen any of the usual suspects offering it yet.
