If everyone has concerns over the bot mode, than just wait for Toyworlds Bruticus they are designing. I don't care the combined mode looks good, those individual modes look horrible.

Agree. I dont see these selling out fast. By that time - TW would have at least some proto to be revealed (I hope).

If TW is starting from scratch with new designers, it will take atleast 6 months for a prototype.

That's True, and I'm really like Unique Toys Bruticus. I may pick that up for the individual modes, and then have Toyworlds upcoming release for the combined mode. Unless Takara does the unexpected and actually gives us REAL Masterpiece Combaticons.

Zeta has the size i want and nice peoportions at a lower cost. UTs has better robot modes and gives the option of toy or toon chest.

Took me long enough, but I finally caught up in all the ZT-TW drama! As for the set, I only need 3 things to give this set a buy:

    1. Consistent pricing.

    2. A review of Bobby Skullface saying the set is good quality and won't fall apart in my hands.

    3. Ratchet joints in the hips, knees, and shoulders of bot/combined mode. Just like with the OS Warbotron. Gimme that kind of love and now we're cooking.

Like I said, I dont think UT or Zeta will sell out fast. As people know TW is doing it too, quite a number will hold off till TW reveals their new designs.

See I don't mind Blast Off. They colour him right and he should look pretty good......but Vortex. Fuck me. What the hell was the designer thinking? He looks even worse with his jacket blades down his back.

Just looking at guy hands holding it shuttle mode, it's gotta be at least the size of a seeker jet if not slightly larger !!!

Toyworld will have an interesting time ending up with the same great-looking combined mode and engineering unless they can borrow some of that for their version.

This combiner will end up being around $340-$400 at retail price, all depending on whether or not they jack up the prices of the later figures once they got some of you hooked on the first two releases. And for that price you are going for the combiner mode because let's be honest, would you ever want to look at the hideous individual bots on your shelf. They don't fit in scale or aesthetics with any of the lines that I can think of, official or 3P. Per individual bot that asking price of $60, imho, is and never will be justifiable for something more kibbly than the laziest hasbro designs. And once again the prices for the later releases are still unknown, and this leaves buyers at the mercy of these guys who created so much drama by their split from toyworld. So you have to ask yourself this question: are you willing to pay for a statue of bruticus for the price range quoted above?

Looking at their bot modes, it almost looks like vortex is a backwards reshell of blast Off (similar to how TF5 drift is compared to TF4 drift).

Zeta Blast Off looks really nice in shuttle mode. I have been looking for a nice shuttle for years now, even went to the NASA store in Florida, and came back empty handed. I would say for 60 $ it is not too bad for that Shuttle mode, and it can transform too. Now, not my favorite in bot mode... at all, and since we have other options, i am waiting on UT version to see both modes before deciding.

So if UT wins, it is like 88$ list (18 $ more expensive), which sux, but i might be happier with the overall Bot / Alt mode. I guess i would justify it as i had the G1 Blast Off and have been wanting a replacement for it since i was a kid. If i could get it on ebay and with a flash sale, it would hurt less. I am guessing both Zeta and UT will be on ebay eventually when it releases.

I'm with you on this one. I would be willing to buy a shuttle transformer because I always wanted one. I haven't seen an Astro train that I like so far so if UT's blast off turns out decent I might get it. It would have to be a really mind blowing set for me to invest in the whole bruticus combiner
