Those bots are hideous though, g1 vortex and blast off wouldn't be seen by anyone they know, not in those crude carcasses. Man those bot modes are Hideous. If they are bought they're staying in combined mode or Alt mode

Love the scale of these figures and those alt modes are soooo...good!..I am slightly...a little bit tempted to check them out myself. But since TW is doing a new design version theres a chance the bot modes will be better.

Ugh I hope something is shown from TW I know its too soon but even if its a pre-render design.

I think the transformations are going to be fairly simple too which may have a bit of an impact on why the costs are low for these guys. The more I see of them, especially that comparison shot, the less I want them.

These two look like a mule that was packed down for a long trip...like really long with all those saddle bags on them. Just HIDEOUS bot modes.

These are the worst high end Transformers I have ever seen. Who the hell was this set made for? Why give Blast-off those feet if there's little effort to make the rest of the figure accurate to source? Vortex is just not redeemable in any way.

    All IMHO

They're definitely not looking like MPs, or most other 3P toys of that size.

Then again, 3P toys that size are usually $100+. These are $60. At that price, they seem fine for people who just care about the combined mode, or people who want to make a custom Blackout out of that Vortex.

Do people really display combiners in non-combined mode AND in robot mode?

    I only care about Bruticus!

Granted, these bots look like shit, but they are cheap so why not. As long as Brut fits the bill.....

image.png Agreed, these bot modes are nothing to brag about, if zeta wants to sell these, promote the combined mode. I need this bruticus yesterday.

Just got confirmation that I can add these to my rub deals. Free shipping included even if purchasing one to try - save more if buying 2.

I'm still undecided personally if these are going to take the place of my OS Warbo. I know that they are more toon, but the kibble - oh the kibble.

However - for the price? Hmmm... I may get suckered in!

I know I'm being totally unfair as design does not equal engineering or manufacturing quality but just looking at those bot modes makes me wonder if the whole combiner will just fall apart. Combined mode still looks good but he would have to be one hell of a combiner for me to jump on board. Especially with UT's figures looking so much cleaner.

They get points from me for having the only Bruticus combiner that has Blast Off connect the correct way to the shoulder... from the top of the shuttle.

This is the better combined mode IMHO, but I dislike the individual bots so far.

Can't shake the feeling that this set will not turn out great, and the individual combaticons look blah so far, but that combined form is the only thing keeping my interest as well.

But knowing we're also waiting for a Superion, Menasor, and Defensor in the same scale, I'm hesitant, because as much as I want all the combiners in the same general scale and height, I would rather end up with a Constructor that's larger than the rest, rather than Constructor and Bruticus at one height, and the other three at another distinct height.

Funny, in the UT Bruticus thread everyone's going on about how much better Zeta's looks combined and how UT's is too small.

Exactly. If this is what we'll get for a combined mode, I don't care if the individual bots look like complete shit. I mean, if they are total TRASH, to the point of disintegrating after transforming, then screw that.

But this Bruticus looks like a dream, the scale is PERFECT.

Yeah I wish there were some consistency in the mp combiner market for scale. So far car bots and most everything else have been good. I hope it sorts itself out with two categories.

    1) Over sized bots and parts forming to make a combined mode that you can pose well, 20 in height, and have the right proportions (porportions is huge , mp Combiners shouldn't be out of whack with a small waist, legs or back).

    2) mp scaled individual bots to make a decent combined mode and have a smaller set height. (Not sacrificing individual bot modes to gain an inch in combined mode but still falling short of the 20" scale.)

I think the main problem is that you can't over come mass shifting with parts forming alone, you have to mess with the individual bots too. So there will never be one set that can do it all. (Even constructor is a little lacking in individual bot mode). We are seeing this being played out with zeta and ut now.

My concern is that the companies want to cater to as many people as possible so they are doing a hodge podge of both categories making the individual and combined modes out of scale. Mp isn't chug were anything goes, we have a set car bot, leader, skyfire, and omega supreme scale. So there is a set mp combiner scale too.

For people that have a separate shelf for Combiners and don't care about scale, I understand that too. Im just using hasbro for my city bots and Unicron, they are not in scale, but I want a representation of them anyway.

The dream is too have omega, jetfire, and all the Combiners to stand next to each other and look as good and consistent as OP, ironhide, jazz and bee do. Right now Phoniex, constructor and soon ft omega are a reality. So it would be nice for mutliple companies to get on the same page so I don't have to wait 20 yrs for one company to make them all.

It is and I completely agree, however there's still a risk either way until we see combined forms for Superion, Defensor, and Menasor, which requires one company or the other delivering 3-4 combiners. :)  And if Toyworld decides to re-do Bruticus and Superion before tackling Menasor or Defensor, that's another unknown height at this time.

I'd be totally happy to have Zeta/TW sized MP combiners and other companies deliver superior individual team member botmodes/altmodes, whether UT or FT or whomever. Like, in my mind, Constructor checks the MP Devastator box pretty much for good (never say never, of course, but still...). I'd still be interested in seeing what FT deliver in the way of Constructicons though.

Likewise, I think Zeta's Bruticus is the right size for an MP combiner but UT might have superior individual Combaticons for displaying in botmode or even altmode.

So I think we're kind of getting the best of both here, although yes it would require getting two sets of combaticons to get the best of both.

But I'm wary of whether Zeta is in it for the long-haul and will actually deliver Bruticus and Superion and whether they tackle Menasor and Defensor, and what Toyworld decides to do and how that looks.
