I have both the Hasbro and Takara versions of T30 Windblade and it's not great, especially the feet. A few days ago, I stumbled across the RiD Windblade in a shop and considered purchasing it... but it looks horrible, like the vast majority of RiD toys. Shampoo bottle plastic, unpainted, simplified transformation, hollow everything... how anyone can say it's superior to T30 one is beyond me.

I would have liked that as Sari. Her full fledged Cybertronian form.

I agree, it's really not that bad, it's not even the worse mold from the T30 years.

how exactly can you comment on the plastic quality of rid windblade if you didnt purchase it? yes the hasbro release LOOKS horrible, but that is because there is a serious lack of paint on it, the adventure release (takara version) looks a million times better. as for the mold itself, no it is not made out of shampoo bottle plastic, it is made of better plastic than a dollar store ko. also for the transformation, its no simpler than many titans return figures, again how can you really comment if you didnt buy it? as for it being hollow? the only thing that are hollow are the nose cone for transformation and the backs of the lower legs, again for transformation, you might know this if you actually gave the figure a chance.

I am not going to spend around $35 US (the price of Deluxes in Serbia) to give something that looks so horrible "a chance." I'm sure the Takara version has better paint (as is often the case), but well, so does the T30 figure. I checked a review after I got home and it solidified my opinion.

BTW, I think all CW and most TR deluxes (with a few exceptions like Triggerhappy) have overly simplified transformations that are completely unsatisfying, so saying that she is as good as a TR figure is not a positive thing in my book.

EDIT: And, as I said, the T30 figure is not exactly great, but I honestly don't think it's as bad as people are making it to be. The feet are a huge problem, but one can sort of get around it (I am currently using her sword scabbard to help with posing), and the legs sitting on top of the plane are bad. Thankfully, it's not as noticable on the Takara version, which is why I decided to keep both - I prefer Hasbro's robot mode and Takara's jet mode.

Don't make claims about a figure though unless you actually know something about it. You claim it has shampoo bottle plastic but haven't handled the figure, it's a false claim and a contributing factor to the willful ignorance of the fandom

If I can see through the plastic when I look at it in packaging, it's shampoo bottle plastic by my standards - plain and simple. YMMV.

if you can see through windblades plastic you either saw a one off with bad qc, mistook the space between parts (ex being between the wings and fans) for space that needs plastic or just need you eyes checked. i've owned two of the four versions of the rid15 windblade (mass retail hasbro and mass retail takara) and neither is anything like what you described it as being.

You've obviously never handled shampoo bottles in Serbia, either. So you don't know what his standard for qualifying that is either.

After all, if you've never handled it, then by your own argument you can't say anything about it, right? ;)

What I have handled is the figure in question and shampoo bottles from America so I do have a better baseline for determining the quality of the rid15 windblade figure than someone that hasn't handled the figure.

Alrighty, send me the figure so I can handle it and I'll post a review. I promise I'll send it back - I have no need for it in my collection.

Well, can it stand? If it can its already miles above the T30.

How about just not making claims to a figures quality when you don't have anyway or desire to verify your claims that are based on someone else's opinion of the figure

I understand you're emotional about this particular figure for whatever reason but I am confident that I can reasonably estimate a figure when I see it in packaging (particularly IRL) and then watch a review afterwards. I am sorry that you and I do not share the same criteria and that you feel a figure must be handled in order for someone to form a proper opinion. If that were my criteria, I'd have lots more figures than I actually do, and I'd probably be living in the street since I couldn't afford my mortgage ;)

@Toolala - FWIW, my T30 Windblades can stand just fine. Dynamic poses are tricky, but standing straight is not a problem.

It has nothing to do with being emotional, it has to do with logic.

You claimed rid15 windblade is made of shampoo bottle plastic

You've never handled the figure, therefore you cannot make a reasonable estimation of the figures quality.

Your entire opinion is based on looking at the figure and on other people opinions.

I have no issues with thrilling 30 windblade except the face doesn't much look like windblade to me.

It is illogical that you think you can difinitively make a statement about the quality of a figure that you have never handled

For some "odd" reason any post made relating to our show, even if it shows off some amazing unreleased stuff, gets shoved to the convention thread. The Sari here that was front paged back in March was actually from the same file that contained the images that got shown today. So, in case you missed it, here are a bunch of other Animated concepts that almost made it. JUST like the Sari. (Actually, these were closer to getting the green light than that figure.)

Something came up and we can't make it... I hope you make the images public after the con or at least let people take pics. I'm sad we can't make it...

We think a good bit of it will be available for those who can't attend. Obviously we want there to be multiple incentives for people to come out but we also want to share with the fandom some of the great concepts that were actually on the pending board. Had it not been for another non-animated set proposal the Animated Stunticons would have never happened. Guess we'll see at the show if some of the other ideas would have been better?!? (While still perty awesome, the Stunticons still have them beat we are thinking!)

You can quit it with the high and mighty routine. We're not talking about design flaws, plastic quality or anything like that. I stressed this. Purely from a design standpoint, it makes for a great Transformer Sari and looks nicer than the RID mold. And it's not like redecos/retools ever fixed mold issues before, right? *cough*sarcasm*cough*
