Hah! I like my indirect mention as "the guy on twitter painting them" during your tiny Titans talk I've done more since then lol, I have to update my updated Tiny Titan Soundwave pics.
On the subject of figure repurposing: Rotf Bludgeon and Lockdown have migrated from my movie shelf to my Neo-G1 shelf. Cybertron Dark Scorponok is standing in for Black Zarak. And when I got titans return kickback, my fall of Cybertron kickback found a new home amoung the botcon 2015 Waruders.
G1 Topspin was also a figure I got as a kid, as a gift no less, so I definitely get a lot of the warm and fuzzies about him too. Just hearing how great this figure turned has made my desire to get him a fervor.
We have had instructions with pictures of the actual physical grey prototype being transformed, Hasbro could at least try that again. They weren't perfect, actual online video would be better, but I'd take static yet three dimensional pictures of moving parts on Transformers over this grey on dark grey poorly bled out insert thing that they're passing off as instructions in Titans Return.
I think those are the ones I was trying to remember it's been such a long time, I often forget they were technically movie toys first
Here's the thing with berserker, if you like ROTF leader prime, you will love him. The transformation has a lot of panels, but as long as you get the order down and make sure everything along the legs is tabbed in, it's fine. Also of note, he's basically crankcase with his design corrected for the final CGI model. DOTM crankcase is based on early concept art. Overall, the three new molds from the first wave are the real gems, and grimlock is fine if you like his metallic paint.
I did see some Tiny Changers at Walmart last week. Cute, but not my thing. Also not my thing: I think I have seen just about every Premier edition movie toy at this point. I hope this doesn't screw up later Titans waves, they had actually been getting on track for a while.
Hey TJ! I just wanted to say I have very much appreciated your looks into the Cyber Battalion toys. I have a Starscream, Commander Optimus Prime, and am planning on picking up Megatron at some point. I think they really are little gems (at retail price) that were unfortunately short changed in terms of support from Hasbro. With some decent distribution they would have been great kids toys for the young ones transitioning from Rescue Bots to RID/Generations.
Just now getting around to this one, but twice in a row the aspect of "displaying in robot mode/not transforming them ever/why not just get actionmasters" has come up. And I know I'm in the minority, but---I display mine in alt-mode. If you looked at my MP shelf, you'd think it was a car collection. Asides from Tracks, they're ALL in car mode right now. And they usually are. MP-01 spent YEARS in truck mode before I sold him. Pretty sure MP-10 was the same. And my MP-07 spends most his time looking like a big blue F-15 on my shelf... So for me, an Actionmaster-type figure would ever worse than "never transforming" a figure--because then it would never ever be in my "preferred mode". And yes, I have seriously considered buying an F-15 kit solely to have an extremely accurate alt-mode rendition of Thundercracker. (and I've come VERY close to buying high-end Countach models of Sideswipe, but he's a rare version that usually costs a LOT of money, as he is NOT a standard "bright red LP500s") Now as for combiners---like everyone else, they spend most of their time combined. But I *do* swap them around. Once TFC Poseidon is complete, I will separate Feral Rex back out into the team, and Poseidon will take his spot (I don't have many spots big enough for a combiner that big, but I'm happy to place Decepticons all around the place---I currently have a Seacon in every room but the bathroom...) (and they're mostly in alt-mode)
