With Generation 1 Getaway. Poor guy can escape many things, but nobody escapes yellowing.

 

I really wish Takara released this figure with better colors. Takara could easily release him as Lightfoot.

Having better colors on this figure would be better than no Getaway figure at all.

 

He has reprolabels set coming out that converts him into loudmouth, probably the only reason I\'ll get this guy 

 

He's really not that bad an update. I would have preferred something more faithfull and no doubt he'll get a more faithfull figure in the future, but with a shapeways spoiler and a few reprolabels he would be allright.

 

Why does he look so... lame? Is it because of the adaptaional villainy he\'s been getting in mtmte, or just poorly made?

I've got two. He's really not a bad figure at all, very cool in hand. I'm just trying to figure out a good Beast Wars (II & Neo included) character to repaint my second one as...

I was thinking him, mainly because of the rough edges and head. It could work. Originally, I was considering Stampy, but that wouldn't be much of a repaint lol...

 

I considered getting him once when I saw him, but I can't stand transparent wheels for some reason. :/

 

I might be one of the few that actually likes this figure. He comes off as Getaway to me (I know that is one of the issues some have with the guy), but he does have the colors and head. Plus I actually think the colors alone make him more of an interesting figure then TR Chromedome.

What the heck did IDW do to make this guy go so hated though?

 

What you call disappointing I call the first mainstream release of a Getaway since the original.

Breakaway was my favorite DX in the wave. Yes just a re-color with new faceplate Titan Master, but still like him more than the others.

 

So glad Toyhax put out a Siren set for this epic Bleh

 

He betrayed Rodimus,Megatron, Drift, Nightbeat, and friends; marooning them and taking over the Lost Light. He's a Bitch in IDW

 

Colours and mould choice. See, when I personally look at the figure all I really fixate on is the grey being too light, the yellow being too pale, and there being way too much white. The colour balance is off in a way that makes the head and grey parts look almost over-exposed, and there's just not enough contrast.

Plus the mould is just really mundane for Breakaway. The lack of big ol' shoulderpads and as I mentioned the poor colour palette, combined with poor colour placement (the arms being entirely white with no blue really hurts the figure's look) just doesn't evoke the original or look very pleasing. The face especially looks so bland without different coloured eyes or properly contrasting colours. I personally feel the Rodimus mould would've looked better if painted properly. It's just a bit more dynamic and befitting the head design.

 

I don't mind that he reuses the Chromedome mold since not all characters can get their own unique mold, but I don't like how little color he has. If he were to have almost the exact same colors as the original toy, as much as the mold will allow, he would look great and be a worthy purchase. But as he is, he's woefully underpainted and the only Deluxe I'm choosing to pass on. This is the best custom of Breakaway I've seen


I also want the Chromedome mold to be remolded into Nightbeat, Siren, Minerva and Go Shooter, reusing the Nightbeat and Loudmouth heads with new chests for Nightbeat/Minerva and Siren/Go Shooter. Just make sure they are given decent and appropriate color schemes.

 

Can you really blame him though?

As for the figure itself a think a nice wash and painted eyes would really up the mileage on him.
