Theres a difference between having a different opinion and just hating on something.

People can have whatever opinion they want, thats fine. But you can dislike something and state your opinion on it without being argumentative.

Back on topic. Boy the addition of the proper Targetmaster for Takara Hot Rodimus sure makes a heck of a difference.[IMG]

The deco is certainly better than Hasbro's but the lack of grey hands irks me and the new chest piece makes him look fat.

The Takara version is ok. They didn't have to go ahead and fuck the chest up. Kinda ruins the figure. But you know choices and all that.

I quite like the figure and happy with him as my CHUG Hot Rod just hope Hasbro gets around to making a voyager CHUG Rodimus Prime. This figure is also clearly ten times better then the Classics. I have no interest in the Takara version, don't really like the retooled chest or the colors(like most Takara releases).

My only complaint was the lack of detail, but that's easy to fix with Reprolabels.

Wow, that looks like trash. From the design to the colours, it's like a violent assault of my eyes.

But still, the line isn't for me.

They're pretty old now, I think I had mine in 2011 or something? You'd need to get lucky in the Junkion Exchange.

Also, regarding opinions. Nobody is saying you cannot express a view against the grain, heck, I recommend thinking for yourself. But be civil about it and accept that others will have their own views.

Do that, and we can all be happy.

That's the first I had a good look at the Takara version. I didn't realize there was a mold difference. That gave me the idea to try something similar with the Hasbro:

    CIMG5250.JPG

I like it. It gives the figure a more boxy feel that I like. Downside is that now from the side there's a gap going through the chest. Looking at the Takara above, it looks like there's a gap there too?

Like that I have options with this figure. However, I have to currently disagree with the "This can replace that ol' CHUG". Something about the silhouette is off to me compared to the ol' CHUG.

I'm nostalgic AND love the new stuff! What can I say, I love my cake, but I love to eat it too!

(I am also getting the Takara one, I had to. My first ever Hot Rod was the Targetmaster one.)

I vastly prefer the Titans Return Hot Rod over both the Classics Rodimus and the G1 Hot Rod because I don't like bricks. I prefer Transformers toys that are actually made to be posed over Transformers toys that are bricks.

Indeed. Along with the exclusion of yellow paint on the helmet's crest. The mold is so good besides the shoulders obstructing the spoiler in robot mode, but the execution was less than stellar. It's a shame, because Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime is my third favorite Cybertronian.
