I am one of the weirdos that wanted that Grey Kup. I think I'll still be picking up one Hasbro and Takara Kup, but I got super excited about the grey body. To me it is just a neutral sci-fi vehicle that I could use as a body for whatever Titanmasters I want, I was tempted to pick up two extra, slap a decepticon symbol on one and use them as generic transtectors for my Titanmasters.

I think I'm going to start skipping the odd episodes after this one.

    On Transformers that don't transform...

It's not a knee-jerk reaction for me, I just don't have an interest in non-transforming figures. I mean I rarely transform the figures on my shelf, but every now and then? I'll pull off a figure I haven't transformed in years and just rediscover it.

On Megatron and realistic gun modes that can be held properly...

I get the sense I've given this answer before, but I'll do my best to expand on it.
First off. Yeah a gun or a model gun would get me an accurate P-38, but it wouldn't transform into Megatron, ya see ;)  It ties into what I said above in a way.
In another? I'm a casual "gun" person I guess. I mean I hunt at any rate. And the idea of a Megatron who transforms into a realistic gun that can be held as such is just cool.
I get that if guns are a thing you just aren't into then it's lost on you. I understand that. It's just that you guys spent a good portion of this podcast talking about at least appreciating things other people like that you don't. And then you get to the people who prefer a G1 Megatron transform into an accurate gun and I feel like I'm suddenly being talked down to. o_O

Now scale? I know you guys were joking, but no one cares about life-like scale for figures that turn into vehicles because toys. Obviously.
Now with characters like G1 Megatron, G1 Soundwave, and G1 Reflector? They're unique in that unlike Sideswipe? They actually transform into things that CAN be in scale to a human. So I always appreciate it when toy companies, be they Hasbro/TT or an unofficial outfit, go the extra mile to make that work.

I'm a lot like Vangelus in that I like trying to understand why someone likes something that I'm not into (I also think understanding the different viewpoints of others is an important thing for life in general, but toys too). Unfortunately, this pursuit of understanding sometimes goes around to me being somewhat frustrated that I don't get the same enjoyment out of the thing. I've gone through this with a lot of third party figures that I feel like I should really dig but for some reason just don't. So I guess it's kind of a double-edged sword. :lol

(BTW I totally don't get the negativity toward odd episodes or long off topic sections. Listening to Seth and Vangelus just riff off of each other is fun as hell regardless of the topic. Keep it up, guys!)

Yeah, that's never bugged me. Off-topic conversation is never a problem on podcasts if the people talking have chemistry. Seth and Vangelus have it, and half the time I don't even notice they're off topic until they get back on-topic!

    Ok, bye.

Sorry, I think we got carried away with the joking around. Neither of us where out to make anyone feel down.

This is at lest two odd episodes in a row you have made a comment about off topic. Can't do much about the moments when we tangent during other topics but when we get to the specifically off topic section of the show... stop playing the episode.

I've always been fine w/ the off-topic stuff.

Also, I had no idea what Seth was talking about when he said he got a "Kane" Figuarts. I think her name is pronounced "ah-con-eh". I've always never watched Ranma 1/2 so I could be totally wrong, but that's how I've always heard the name said in other shows and whatnot.

And as for the listener question, I'd say Vangelus has influenced me way more than I would like. I also kind of buy TFs on whether the transformation or aesthetic is working for me, but I also basically got into Kamen Rider because of him (and peaugh).

You are right, I haven't watched the anime in hella years so forgot but reading how you spell it out sounds more right.

You said something like "if you remember, post those pictures."

I usually fall asleep during the listener questions and have to come back to hear the off topic stuff. I find the even episode off topic a little tougher to come back for because it can be a little repetitive.

Also please do post pics of any obscure stuff you talk about. I remember an episode where you talked about a light up shot glass, it should have been the episode pic.

Pretty much this. I really appreciate alt modes, and they are at least half the deciding factor if I like a figure. Transformation is probably 30%, and the look/articulation of the robot mode is probably only ~15%. I want megatron's gun mode to be as accurate as possible to a real handgun; however, I know that some sacrifices need to be made. Still, the more realistic the better. But hey, I look at the Rumble/Frenzy debate or MP Soundwave's eye color angst and just laugh and shrug. So, to each their own!

Also, I really love the off-topic stuff. I can read about Transformers here anytime. I listen to the podcasts to hear the other silly things people have received :)

Are you saying Akane? What forces brought you to assimilate that pronunciation into your lexicon? It... it was a show... you would've been exposed to...

Unless it's deliberate. People like you are why localizers whitewash names and settings. You are bad people Seeth Boozaird.
