Your "thoughts" have me wondering how long you actually think about them thoroughly before you post them. Seriously. Most of your posts seem willfully ignorant on purpose as if you're trying to get a rise out of people.

Uhm....transformers have technology that allows them to blowup suns, capture and then harness the sun's energy. Human should be no match for them.

 

Well human has the capabilities to destroy city or even portion of a country via nuke. We have variety of arsenal within our disposal that make us a dominant species, we could go to space, taming nature, heck we could also harvest sun's energy and yet those thing don't make us impervious. We could still die just fine from variety means. Same with Cybertronians, sure they have some technology advantages, but in the end they still feel pain and can be terminated. Our own weaponry is not to be trifled with either.

Instead of making Cybertronians straight up invincible toward human, they should make Cybertronians act similar to us, which is to adapt toward their opponent. The human adapt to them with their "sabot" high heat rounds, why the Cybertronians couldn't adapt to it? They should act smarter and stop charging head on especially since human have number superiority. They should use their ability to TRANSFORM and disguise, take out their opponent as quickly as they can and get out (i.e.: Blackout). In the end they should try to use different strategy other than the whole space invasion schtick along with the red shirts that come with it.

 

Humans have technology that can wipe entire cities clean of the Earth in a nuclear explosion, yet you can still get bitten by a spider and die, or slip on ice and break your neck. Your correlation has no weight once perspective is applied to it.

Being powerful does not make you invincible. Matter is still matter.

I never got the "the transformers must be indestructible and can survive a nuclear explosion and the bestest most awesomenest aliens EVER". It reeks of a 13 year old mentality and childishness.

If they are so unstoppable why bother with hiding? Why bother being robots in disguise if you can just waltz in in a city, none of the guns have any effect on you and you can level a city just by looking at it? What's the point of being "robots in disguise" then?

There's an argument to be made about how you don't want humans to take out the main decepticons like Megatron or Soundwave just like how you don't want to say some random cop kill the Joker. You want to see Batman take down the Joker and you want to see Optimus/the Autobots take down the main 'Cons. But humans being 100% useless is one of those "I don't get it" moments of this fandom.

 

The "robots in disguise" element of Transformers is one thing I like about the movies--not a lot of Transformers fiction really makes that important. I know a lot of fans would just like to see the robot characters alone on some space adventure, but to me, that destroys the whole point of them being Transformers.

 

It really doesn't tho. Transformers by nature are robots that turn into cars as long as you have stories with robots that turn into cars you can put them wherever you want. MTMTE is the single best piece of Transformers fiction ever made and it's literally just robots having space adventures.

The "robots in diguise" is only relevant to Earth since the majority of fiction is set on Earth. You can also set the story Puto 192 and still have them be robot in disguise with humans replaces by Shrek-aliens.

What MTMTE also has going on for itself is the fact that it's a secondary book while the primary book is still transformers on Earth being cars and shit.

I'm tired of the "either you do 100% NO HUMANS, or the NO IT MUST BE ALWAYS ABOUT THE HUMANS!!!" duality of the fandom. You can do both, and both will still be transformers.

 

But in that case the transforming is incidental and the "robots in disguise" theme is non-existent. It could just as well be a story about colorfully dressed humans or non-transforming robots. I'm not denying it's good fiction, just as there is lots of good fiction out there about humans or robots who don't disguise themselves, but it simply doesn't have the robots in disguise element that always especially appealed to me.

True, but I think the appeal for me is the idea of a familiar object secretly being something extraordinary. I doubt the stuff on Puto 192 would be familar to me  .

Personally I think it being about the Transformers trying to survive and accomplish their goals while hiding amongst humanity is the best balance of these two things.

 

You're 100% correct. But I don't think Humans should be so efficient against Transformers, not from the start (before they had purpose built artillery) anyway.

 

Why is this red Autobot named Hot Rod and not Cliffjumper, Chase, or any other red sports car Autobot?

It ain't all Geewun all the time. Transformers change. Different characters go through different designs. Explain to me how Hot Rod being a black and orange bot is any different from any of the above examples.

First, I don't know what T. rex you're talking about (BW Megatron? He wouldn't make sense as Grimlock anyway. They're almost nothing alike.), but the T. rex in Bayformers is Grimlock.

I think for the most part the complaint about "G1ers" is a straw man argument, but you are not doing a good job of representing hardcore G1 fans right now, and I say this as someone who enjoys both G1 and the movies.
