Speak for yourself, apart from AOE, generally the toy line is great (see ROTF and DOTM, TLK is shaping up to be pretty decent also, apart from the prices)

One could argue that the 2007 film brought transformers back into the spotlight again, it definitely brought a lot of new fans into the community, how is that not do My anything for the fans?

Well, I guess we should contact all those studios and tell them because Guardians of the Galaxy got a cover on a magazine they should cancel all their films because they are doomed.

Why don't people like Hot Rod? I've mentioned it before, but the whole fishing>DARE>"there's a hole in the shuttle!" sequence is one of the most beautiful sequences in all of transformers, it fully captured the dream we all had of having an Autobot buddy. I feel emotional just thinking about it!

Not just transformers, but animated movies in general. Especially on blue ray. I love that scene, but come on, his incompetence gets Optimus killed!

 

He was trying his best! If anything you should blame whoever left that gun lying around. Guns should be kept somewhere safe and children properly educated on their function and safe handling. Megatron was terribly irresponsible.

 

Because he replaced Optimus, that's why. Also people blame him for Optimus' death. My brother is an example of this.

My brother is a Optimus Prime fanboy, he tends to hold grudges about characters he likes. For example, he despises Kylo Ren for killing his favorite character or how he despises Movie Lockdown and Movie Sentinel for killing off two of his favorite characters, Ratchet and Ironhide. The only exception to this rule is if he happens to like the characters that did the killing, examples would be Megatron and Darth Vader.

My brother was neutral toward Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, but after the whole "Hot Rod, get out of the way!" it turned into full blown hatred.

 

Negated because he didn't shoot Wheelie in the mouth when he had the chance.

 

I would laugh if Movie Hot Rod actually manages to save Optimus in a smart manner which would make a lot of people like him more then the G1 version.

 

No solid proof yet, but there are a few things that seem to hint at it.

It's only natural we wouldn't get everything regarding the mythology it isn't fully revealed yet, how can we get a sense of something we don't know all the details of. The matrix did come back and it played a pretty big role. It was in Revenge where we discovered it was a legendary key created to activate the harvester it could also reactivate the sparks of dead transformers but could only be wielded by those who earn it, it returns in Dark where optimus uses it to revive Sentinel he also offers it to Sentinel as a sign of passing leadership. It doesn't appear nor is it mentioned in Age but does it need to be? It's already played a part in two movies we know it exists. Do we really need to mention it or have optimus use it in every movie to remind people that yes it still exists we haven't forgotten it?

The movies haven't forgotten anything they just use them when they're necessary. We got two movies about the Allspark, two movies about the Primes, and two movies where the matrix played a role. How relevant do they need to be the three plot points drove literally everything in the original trilogy and the consequences they brought is why the events of Age happen. These elements are important very much so, just because Age of Extinction didn't mention them doesn't mean they're irrelevant, their consequences remain. We don't need to be reminded of this use them when necessary.

 

Thing is... I don't want a Resident Evil The Final Chapter for this movie. You know happened to the continuity in the RE movie series?

 

Yeah it counteracts literally every movie. I have no idea how it happened considering the writer and director are the same man, who also wrote every film. TLK doesn't seem to be showing these kind of issues.

I agree the Allspark needs to be merged with the creators and the primes merged with the knights. Beyond that I feel that's sufficient I don't really see really any reason for the matrix to come back beyond a brief appearance in the backstory. Present day wise I don't feel the Allspark coming back is necessary either as I'm not sure what you would do with it, I feel just mentioning it during the backstory as the source of what made the TFS sentient and gave them their spark is sufficient enough. While the cinematic universe wasn't originally planned Age was designed to set in motion a new story and build to the origin of the transformers. The creators were introduced for the sole purpose of revealing the mythology. The arm looks like the dynasty complete with the same hole in it's hand and similar fingers.

This was put in Age for a reason. I honestly think you have nothing to fear Quintessa accuses optimus of destroying his home, in DOTM Cybertron was already dead, the producers have mentioned that optimus will question if the planet ending up dead was his fault, this likely means optimus sent the Allspark into space and that's what Quintessa is talking about when she says he destroyed his home. I have virtually no doubt the Allspark will be mentioned and play a role in the backstory.
