Mine finally arrived. Wow! This thing is rock solid and weighty.

The plastic is chunky and the quality feels superb - just as good or better than the official stuffs even. My only complain is the segmented hose does look/feel fragile. Is it more fragile than the original smooth hose?

Congrats. I have the v1 with the smooth hose. It's pretty solid. I also have the clear and darker purple toy version both ow which have the segmented hose. So far they are holding up very well.

Thanks! Quakewave REALLY feels like a quality piece. MP Shockwave feels weak in comparison, IMO. I just can't shake the "cheap" feeling I'm getting with MP Shockwave after having Quake in my possession. Takara really dropped the ball with Shockwave.

Yes. In hand the Takara version feels like a cheap kid's toy.

Another thing i forgot to add is that: it looks like Quake uses fiber glass reinforced polymer, that's why it is significantly more robust than plastic of other MPs I've handled.

I hope they ultilized this type of plastic more.

Is there any quality difference between the original version and the reissue? I'm tempted to use my ebay bucks to pick this guy up and the cheapest ones on ebay all appear to be the original release with the smooth hose.

Not that I'm aware of. Personally I prefer the smooth hose. Even if you end up with the reissue, you can find smooth hose kits on Ebay.

I wish the grey version of Quakewave would get another run.

Agree with ChromeMagnus, the smooth hose looks better. I have the reissue, might get the hose kit later. But the reissue one has actually grown a bit on me, really hated it first time i saw it.

Not to mention Quake Wave is taller than TT Shockwave from what I've seen in pictures and videos. MP Shockwave is too short. That bot had a menacing presence on the original series and comics. TT Shockwave just doesn't give me that feeling at all.

I'm debating to get this (the lighter purples is my preference but not I would not mind the darker one) or the Cloud 9 Quakeblast.

How come on the re-issue and the toy color versions his gun hand is loose while the original and first version didn't have that problem?

Everything is nice and tight on mine. What I do noticed though, is that it is easier to extend and collapse the legs in the re-issue version. They feel just right instead of too tight like the original release.

Here are some pictures of my Fans toys Quakewave and a small review.

All the joints and ratchets are very tight.
The biggest appeal (for me) is the overall look of Quakewave.
He is pretty darn close to being perfect G1 style without suffering from being too stylized like Quakeblast. My only complaint would be limited articulation. It's one heavy robit with lots of diecast parts. He is also very sturdy when it comes to keeping a pose and holding its balance.
If you dig the pics follow me on the gram @MIDIcons

i broke down and bought mp lazerwave..

it is definitly more toon accurate... but man, lazerwave is a high end toy, quakewave is a collectible. the quality oozes off him, in hand side by side quakewave is so much better presence and quality

He is definitely my animation model Shockwave. The Takara release didn't even make me blink.
My first 3rd party MP. So awesome.

That is a good way of putting it, MP Shockwave always looked like a "high end" Generations figure to me.

I've got Quake blast personally (he looks a bit more menacing to me) but based on that alone I love this mold! If I have the chance I want to double dip and pick up the black death one!

Are the LEDs the same as the original in the "Toy" /dark purple FT-03T version?

someone said the head LED blinks instead of remaining continuously on.
