Also, God Bomber is a Takara exclusive so far. I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to make the mold part of a future TR "value box" like the first two known ones, but that's one case.

Also during the Japanese G1 run there were many, many exclusive molds Takara did, and until last year CW Groove was only in the UW set, and so far UW Blast Off is a Japan exclusive.

It doesn't happen super often, but it does happen. And consider that the movie toy lines, while engineered by TT and also sold in Japan, are by and large meant for a Western audience, just as MPs are targeted mostly at the Japanese and collector market.

But all that said, if you're the type of person who waits on the Hasbro iterations of MPs, you've missed like half the line.

Also, don't feed Afterburner. He's a TT zealot with an irrational hatred for anything Hasbro related.

 

Imagine if in April Fools Takara says that Dinobot is cancelled                and everyone is taking them seriously.

 

Isn't it weird to admit how deficient Hasbro is and then take a shot at someone who chooses to live in that reality? If being pro-fan means I'm anti Hasbro, that's Hasbro's problem to fix. I'm fair and honest and open about what I see as right and wrong and some people just can't be that strong. If anything goes you are left with nothing, one of the universe's great ironies.

As we all know though, Hasbro has nothing to do with this thread, because Beast Wars (started by Kenner) has been left to be remembered by an Optimus PRIME colored Optimus Primal from Beast MACHINES sold for more than double his original retail price despite having less paint operations than the original exclusive. That's Hasbro's idea of celebrating 20 years. Fact.

But yep, I'm the problem. My perspective is off. Let's not praise TakaraTomy, who has brought us Optimus Primal and Cheetor in perfect show accuracy. And now is bringing us Dinobot, who went into the Hasbro Hall of Fame on the first fan ballot. Even if I worked as a TakaraTomy undercover promoter I would be hard pressed to conceive a story this one sided, but in this case it is no story, it is the reality we live in every day.

I have been called a Geewunner more times than you can imagine. Who cares, obviously that isn't true. Dinobot will be mine! No thanks to Hasbro, sorry.

'I'm convinced someone at hasbro almost banged your girlfriend then someone from takara swooped in and cockblocked him. Oh and that you have several alt accounts. In instances where takara puts out a subpar or on par release with hasbro you are mysteriously absent. Like the crickets from you in the takara trypticon thread over no brunt. Hasbro putting out a box set with the Ginrai mold+4 others for only $5 more than ginrai's original retail, yeah you have nothing positive to say about that. Anything you say positive or even neutral about hasbro is begrudgingly at best. On the ultra rare occasion you have said anything even remotely negative about takara you still somehow manage to tie it to hasbro and get a parting shot at them....fair indeed.

Anyhow, Beast Wars dinobot was probably my fav BW mold. I think he was one of the first I picked up, and yet I can admit the mold wasnt all that great back then and if the update is good I will pick it up. Primal and cheetor havent been a priority. Primal beacause I cant see the MP being that much of an improvement over the original and cheetor is meh to me.

I never mentioned it before, but Dinobot's robot face reminds me of this other cartoon character named Billy Castleman. but his show came years after Beast Wars.

Is this post a forum glitch, cause there's no goddamn way anyone in a post-release MP Optimus Primal world is STILL saying this nonsense...

 

I personally fail to see how anyone can see MP Primal and think that he's not leaps and bounds better than the original toy... But of course, my standards are primarily based on show-accuracy as the priority. Out of curiosity, what standards do you base your judgement on?

Cost/beneift ratio.

I didn't have an original Primal. I got one for $40 complete compared to $100 for the MP version...which completes my BW collection and has lots of great play-ability even before the MP upgrade.

However, I acknowledge that's personal opinion.

Calm your dogs please, I didn't mean to bring out the MP Primal fan club, which seems ready to tear me limb from limb. I am not judging him by anything because I don't OWN him, but I DO own several molds of the original. At some point I may pick up the primal recolor, but as it stands I don't have much an opinion of him period because all I have is screenshots vs something in hand. I don't hate it or anything.
