Triple Changers are always going to have one mode that is severely lacking. Guess it depends on your poison. I keep my combiners gestalt form, so if that lacking mode is the bit mode then so be it.

 

TW better not pull that lol ..part of a gift set they got heat last time for that. lol

But crossing my fingers TW will do a V2 G1 toy style Vortex.

 

Good morning, everyone! I have news and it is also posted on the TW Superion thread.

So, I did email last night about the color concerns, V1 vs V2, Vortex's alt-mode, eyes, etc... and I have a response back.

Most importantly, TW said they're not making a second Vortex. I can't even qualify that with "at this time". They were pretty adamant about that. Vortex is what it is.

The translucent yellow plastic on Superion is going away, they said they are going to take a poll for what colors those parts should be.

The eyes on Superion will not be translucent yellow, again they will ask for opinions. I did stress that no one really likes the light piping and they eyes should be painted. They had an overall answer that these are unpainted test shots so the colors are not final. However, not really sure if that addresses painted eyes, or the ones on Bruticus for that matter.

TW already thought about the V1/V2 Devastator situation. As far as they are concerned, they don't want that to happen again. Any subsequent re-release of Superion or Bruticus will remain the same as the first release, no add-on parts, no upgrade kits. So as it seems, what you see (with the final) is what you get: only one version. I don't know what that means to a G2 release.

So, I guess we are all in a wait and see situation with these figures, I did my best.

 

@Qingtianzhu - thanks for dropping the feedback.
I'm hardly surprised they said no G1 Vortex ... I mean, if they did, or left the answer open, they'd lose sales from the wait for G1 Vortex crowd. I think they actually might down the road and if they don't, someone else might. Whatever it is, right now, I'm not keen on the current Bruticus so too bad for both me and TW.

Aftet cutting everything else away, it really is a buy it if you're happy enough and leave it if you're not situation.

 

Could you clarify one thing for me. Are you saying they will not do any upgrade kit PERIOD or are you saying a second version that INCLUDES the upgrade kits won't be produced?

Really appreciate the way you're facilitating communication with TW, Qing. I think most of us will take what we can get. Tbh, no one else is in the MP Bruticus game so far, so TW has the market cornered for now. It's too bad about Vortex but hey it doesn't look bad in combined mode and that's the mode that matters most to me.

Tbh, the same goes for my Constructor. While I'd be tempted to pick up a second green set if the price was right, I'd most likely prefer to wait for Fans Toys or MMC to drop a more G1 toon style set of MP Constructicons that make more sense for individual robot mode display. TW's combiners have bulky, blocky, or chubby individual bot modes on most of their combiner team members, Constructor included. Nothing wrong with that, and it makes for impressive combined forms, but individually the style isn't really to G1 collector taste. But if Superion and Bruticus are as solid in combined form as Constructor, we'll have some really nice MP scaled combiners!

 

Soooo... How's that G1 vortex speculation looking now?

Ditch the clear plastic and light piping on both combiners and I might actually go fir one or both .. One thing for certain i will not be a early buyer on either .. I will be waiting on a second release

 

They are just saying no now, but after release and everyone buys first run thinking vortex is what it is. TW will come along with 2nd run and ..."oh here is G1 vortex, have a nice day.. thanks for your money on first run and now you have to double dip". This is a company out to make money and if they want shitty Vortex to sell.

 

Q just confirmed the elimination of that ridiculous light piping crap! But yeah I'll be patiently waiting for a ver 2 gift set
