glad it was an easy fix then, i haven't heard of anyone elses being like that, most of the "misassembly errors" have been about the ankle tilts being on the wrong sides of the feet, which were transformation errors, but haven't heard of anything like yours

What's this ankle joint error people are making??? The pivot is supposed to be on the inside of the foot in robot mode, correct? If that were not the case wouldn't that mean the feet were put on backwards because there's only one way to transform the feet as far as I'm aware, fold out from the legs.

People were missing a step in transformation that had them ending up with the ankle tilts on the outside of the feet instead of the inside

Damnit, I think my Cheetor has the legs on the wrong sides now for the lower legs. And just unscrewing the knee joint doesn't seem to let me swap the pieces around. This is all because the thighs got put on backwards in the first place, annoying QC problems.

Do you have pics? It's just with the way you're describing your issue, I honestly think it may be mistransformed.

If the thighs are backwards, and the lower legs are ALSO backwards, then that means you likely either didn't flip the pelvis around, or didn't flip the legs over at the hip joint. Because Cheetor's thighs actually can't be assembled backwards since you could always flip them over. The thighs are identical, and if you already swapped the legs so the screws face the correct directions, they shouldn't be swapped anymore. Pics would really help show what the issue with yours is.

The issue is that I'm a Grade A Moron. I never should have swapped the thighs in the first place, I perpetuated the misassembly by not realizing you were supposed to ROTATE the fucking thighs after you rotated the pelvis joint to reveal the screw holes... In all fairness I blame Takara's pictures here, the original Beast Wars instructions had actual words under the damn pictures, but ever since Hasbro and Takara switched to images only sometimes you miss something because still pictures can be VAGUE AS FUCK.

I have returned my Cheetor to the correct upper thigh configuration the way it came in the box and now he looks proper. I do wish I'd thought to try this before I scratched the fuck out of the paint on the inner screw holes for the knee, but it's just the inner screw holes of the knee and so cosmetic damage is a small price to pay for being that incompetent. You may now mock me for my idiocy, but only for the rest of the month.

:lol  No worries man, it can be confusing because there's so many ways it can go "wrong" but in all fairness, you do rotate the thighs and legs over before it instructs you to swivel the waist.

I'm just glad we once again busted another misassembly myth.

Don't Transform your tfs in the sun then, I can only surmise that the reflection of the sun beaming into my glasses through the window made me miss that VERY OBVIOUS step. Ugh.

Also, technically the instructions do have writing, it's just in Japanese. :3

I'm almost impressed by the people who jump to unscrewing their mps before considering perhaps the mistake was theirs. Wish I was that self-assured. I'm trying not to sound like a dick but taking apart any premium figure would always be my last resort and only after I'd scoured the internet for information on the issue.

Has anyone painted the Blue robot mode Bits?

Im curious if anyone went that far to streamline the cheeta mode.

This guy isn't bad to transform both ways. Fortunately, the leg thing is easy to maneuver to the correct position. Just mess around with it until it's good to go.

Yeah, I kinda agree. This might come across as holier-than-thou, but I never blame the figure for my own inability to transform it. I study the engineering, understand it and appreciate it. I love Transformers because they constantly challenge me and make me aware of and learn from my own deficiencies. In a sense, I know when I'm up against a good Transformers figure when I am humbled by it.

    ...man, that was deep.

I prefer to always use the instructions. I generally don't try something on my own unless I can't find any resource for it first. Nowadays I'll watch a video when instructions are unclear. Sometimes it can be really hard to know if something is intended to move in a certain way or not.

It's tough to discuss without coming off a bit-
    [IMG]
But I'm exactly the same. I take a ridiculously long time performing the first transformation just to drink in every wonderful swivel and fold and try to remember the process. I think you can really only be fully 'wowed' once by a transformer and that's during the first transformation so I drag it out. Of course I've appreciated their brilliance multiple times but nothing beats the first when their secrets are revealed and I have to stop after every step and say 'Ooo, nice.'
I feel way more confident in how Dinobot will turn out after getting Primal and Cheetor.

Man, glad I came here before I took his legs apart. Totally thought they were reversed too, but figured I'd come here and make sure there wasn't something going on before I did anything drastic. Now I just need to loosen up his ridiculously tight shoulders and he'll be golden.
