I've seen this sentiment here before but want to clarify. Are you saying the $100 price for a limb-bot was LOW? and that TFM is pricing MM a bit higher to cover their supposed losses on $100 limb-bots?

I read his comment as saying they priced the limbs that high to enable MM to be cheaper but then it didnt end up being cheaper. Most here agree that the limbs are overpriced or a very high price for the quality of product that's been delivered compared to comparables. So seeing MM also come in at a high price point when we now know the level of quality to expect, feels wrong.

I started collecting two years ago, and figures the size of this (Scoria, MP 10, Mp11, MP ultra Magnus) were all $200 and over. I thought that was the going rate for these figs. But over the past few months, companies have begun to lower their prices for some figs and I got used to that. But to see the gen toy/warbo/TFM combines still be so overpriced when they are known to have QC issues is mind boggling. I know all companies are in it to make money but GT/TFM really beats their consumers over the head.

TFM: "How do we make this five-member combiner cost as much as (actually more than) six-member teams from better companies? I know, we'll charge the same prices for the limbs and then double the price on the core bot!"

Sounds more like a repeat of the old Fansproject Menasor/M3 legend were a FP representative was quoted as saying on a Con that the very tiny limb bots were expensive because they would cover part of the cost of Diesel. That did not come to pass and Diesel came with a 150$ price tag and 60$ a piece limbbots.

Looks like getting this guy from overseas will be the cheaper option for many folks then.

    Yep.

Sadly I'll forgo ordering from any US retailers with this kind of pricing.

I thought this guy might be my first combiner but I held off any purchases until they confirmed pricing on MM. Glad I did now,I love the alt modes but reading about the hit and miss paint issues on the limb bots coupled with pricing on the core bot..I guess I'll stick to enjoying pictures of other people's Menasor.

Ya, I'm hoping to source the other 3 members from the same seller on ebay that I got the first two. Fair pricing, imo. I'll probably have to wait until after release for them but better than paying more than I have to.

Can't say I'm surprised at the price honestly. MP-10 and MP-36 cost as much or more than this at the same height. The huge parts count, and the requirement to act as not only the torso but also the base structure of the legs means he was always gonna be big and complicated and that costs money. FT dinos we're retailing for as much as this or more at launch and their parts count and complexity look to be way lower. As oursisthefury mentioned above, we've been spoiled by the recent trend to lower the cost of 3P's. two years ago none of us would have been surprised at a $200 price tag for something this big.
For me the problem is that MM was the big draw card for me for this set. He looks amazing and will stand next to MP-10 perfectly. I ended up ordering the other four limbs because I didn't want a combiner torso without the rest of the team. To now skip MM is just not on. I'll be shopping around and finding a deal to avoid the inflated $200 price tag but to me, $170 is about right for something of this size and complexity. (Given the overall price trends and markups in 3P from Western retailers that is)

Overall, this figure looks great!! My only complaint is that his face looks slightly too organic.

Not low... Just a bit too high to make Powertrain more affordable (distributing the cost among the five figures) ... But seems that this is not the case!

Back then MP-10 and now MP-36 cost over the $200... Powertrain looks amazing, definitely is more complex than MP-10, but if he is going to be $200... Then better be an outstanding figure (quality wise) !

Just because Carnage have some paint problems, let's not assume the worst for the rest of the team! TFM can't screw up the core bot!

I am still buying Powertrain... But I will wait until the price is confirmed...

So 1/6 stuff is what scales with the large MPs, right? If Soundwave is on guitar, does that make Notormaster the bassist or maybe the drummer?

I'm in agreement that 170 seems like a more reasonable price. WB03 is 144$ and doesn't have quite the same parts but is in the same vein. From the pics it looks like part of the trailer has no functionality or conversion. Am I missing something are a good bit of the trailer not in the pics?

It makes sense why they did not reveal Powertrain's price. They waited for people to be two figures in lol.
