I\'m having a hard time deciding between this figure and Cheetor. I like the mold on this guy a lot, but that Cheetor is gorgeous. Why do I have a budget!

Depends which of the two is your priority..but personally..I would go for Grapple first over Cheetor due to the G1 nostalgia factor. Dont get me wrong.. Cheetor is pretty rad as well. :D

Tough choice here, wow. I think both will be around for awhile though and quite possibly reissued too. Flip a coin for which one to get because you can't go wrong, then next month get the other :thumb

I've noticed on ebay Grapple is going for cheaper, relatively then Cheetor. I just picked up Grapple for $123 free shipping, while I can't find a Cheetor for less then $75. Online pricing has Grapple for $140 and Cheetor is $75. So I would suggest getting Grapple now while the price is low and wait a little on Cheetor and hopefully the price will dip a some.

I feel really tempted to get this guy, but I want to save all my money for Megs first.

He looks really good, and although I would prefer to own this one, I already bought the Maketoys one, and since I bought it after the offical one was announced, I got it for $50, so I just couldn't justify buying the Takara one, but it is a really nice figure. I'm a total G1-cartoon fan, and he looks awesome

I dunno if it's just me, but I want MP Hauler out of this guy.

If Artfire -- an obscure Japanese-only, and manga-only at that -- character can get a decent handful of toys, how come Hauler only has one eHobby redeco?

And TT loves to get as much use out of MP molds if nothing else, so fingers crossed a lime green redeco of Grapple happens.

Sadly, that's what I'm doing. I really want this guy bad...I'll get him though after Megs.

Excluding MP, Artfire only has two toys (only one more than Hauler) and the second was a Million Publishing Exclusive. I'd be surprised if we didn't have Hauler (likely a TTMall exclusive) by the end of next year. Right now I think they want to spread out uses of Inferno/Grapple.

Damn I hate paint on rubbing parts!

The figure looks and feels awesome but I already have 4 paintchips, 2 being very visible, after one transformation. How can they engineer such intricate figures yet fail on such a basic issue is beyond me.

I personally think Cheetor is fugly, seriously seriously fugly, but that said as much of an improvement as Grapple is aesthetically over Inferno, he's not that awesome to handle as he's more fiddly, more limited in articulation and much much more stiff. Unpleasantly stiff due to the paint binding the joints.

    Tl;dr: Get Inferno first.

I did a smartphone camera shoot of Inferno and Grapple together and marveled at how Grapple is shorter than Inferno with mostly the same parts. At first, I thought I wasn't seeing something correctly. I actually like the variance in size between the two bots.

Just so everyone can see what I'm referring to. Inferno is clearly taller than Grapple.

Just wait for the size difference between the eventual officials of Trailbreaker and Hoist.

One very careful, slow transformation and I'm in the same boat you are. The leg cylinders on the right leg has scuffs. The buttflap has multiple spots of missed/flubbed paint apps. Most of the upper body doesn't seem to tab in properly, if it tabs into anything at all. This one is another disappointment for me.
