That Megatron looks like a pretty close copy of the Megatron kit that came with that 3P Bruticus.  I\'d love to see OP as an OSKO.  As the version of Megs already has an OSKO, it\'s not needed.

Does GT have plans to release a Legends scale figure with each Combiner team they release? IF and DX9 could use more competition.

Anyone know if these two are model kits like the megatron before  I personaly liked the idea of geting the megatron figure and building him. I would like to see more kits like that.

Megatron (Tyrant) came with Gravity Builder/Devastator, not Bruticus. Bruticus' model kit partner was Shockwave.

And it's not a "close copy", it is Tyrant. Just apparently pre-assembled and pre-painted.

These guys look better than the GT-2 IDW Prime.

I like good looks and easy transformation.

Cheers. The head looks different to me, though. Anyway, this is great news. With a bit of luck, Zhan Jiang will release an OSKO of the OP featured above.

Is 60 USD for the pair still cheaper than IF Starscream?

IF Starscream is going for 40 USD. With the crown, cape and Megatron gun he's starting to look like a good deal.

Wow, a lot of you are pretty passive about your collecting... :rolleyes2

There was nothing wrong with the Megatron kit you build - it was straightforward and easy enough. If you can get over the idea of having to build it... it's a lot of fun, and for me, much more fulfilling than your standard Gundam kit (but that's cause I'm more into TFs!).

I have no need for a pre-built Megatron, as the kit is just more fun, imo. But if this is a set of TWO kits, then maybe I'd be interested (let's build an Optimus!).

But seriously... did we need these two? Optimus is by far the easiest toy to acquire, were one starting a TF collection today. I can't even begin to name how many we have. And a Legends scale Optimus came out pretty recently, so I'm not sure we even need this. Unless it's a model kit. :)

Yes, I needed a good earth mode legends OP. Currently I only had the IDW Hasbro one that had the Targetmaster Roller. And I have zero desire to screw around building a toy. It is just not in my skill set.

I need an Optimus to go against my DX9 WIP Megatron. Right now, the only two options are the Hybrid Style Convoy (too expensive) and the Iron Factory Powermaster Prime core bot (already have this but in full Powermaster mode). The rest of the ones out there are either too big (oversized legends for instance) or too small (regular sized Hasbro legends).

It's not hard to build these at all. The only "skill" you really need is a bit of patience and ambition to build it.

But that's cool. The question is... are you a majority or minority? :)  Every toy has an audience, but it fails when that audience is too small to earn back investment, pay salaries, material costs, etc.

I think this set reflects Generation Toys' safety-net foray into the Legends market. Go buy it - maybe they'll take a bigger risk later and make something unusual. :thumb
Is this Optimus that much bigger than the Hasbro Legends one? I mean, that's being pretty picky, and lucky for you, you collect Optimus. So here ya go. And if you don't like this one, let me assure you of the 10 more in development right now.

Seriously, so sick of Optimus toys. I would love to see more minibots like Gears or Brawn. This set is too safe! I could go into a coma right now and wake up 10 yrs later to find a similar set for sale.

But no offense intended to you Optimi collectors. I realize Optimus Prime is the most popular character in TF history and caused many children to cry during the 86 movie. I'm the guy who feels Optimus hasn't earned that fan devotion, however.

I think along the way I have become an Optimus collector without really realizing it. I have at least 20 across the different size classes and multiple iterations of the character. In any case, size comparisons with the aforementioned DX9 legends Megatron will determine if this finds a place in my legends shelf or not.

This one will fit my collection. And appears to easily have more articulation than my Hasbro one. So I ordered it. I like to support the new guys in the Legends market. UT, DX9 and Iron Factory have turned out to be good bets.Audience size is probably why GT went with a safe pick like Optimus and Megatron. I hope Corbot V has success, but I'm afraid they either went too obscure or too pricey. Either way there hasn't been a word about a follow up to their Allicon/Alligator Snarl figures. I want GT and Mech Planet to be successful where Ark Studios, Corbot V and Shapeshift Inc. were not.

And more characters would be great. I'm happy to have OP, Dinobots, Arcee, Ironhide, Ratchet etc. But I'm hoping 3p will expand to include minibots like Brawn, Cliffjumper, Cosmos etc that will scale with all these figures. Hell, I'd take a tiny Bumblebee. I don't mind that 3ps are covering the big names. I just wish there was less overlap. But with IF's focus on IDW I'm hopefully that after they get the Seekers/Shockwave out their system they will release someone like Nightbeat, Nautica, Moonracer, Skids or Trailbreaker. And DX9 can get around to Hot Rod, Wreck-gar, Springer and the rest of the movie cast once the Seekers/Soundwave sets get released.

Nope. But I think u know that by now so apologies if redundant. (& yea I read the full 3 pages jsuk, It's just late lol)

I did a search and all I got was Megatron abd Generation One. Can you show me what your talking about Thanks :)

Uhh ...arm gap(??) I think when company's luke 3rd party company's and not KNOCKOFF ONLY co.'s do it it's usually 2 different things.

    2 totally different looks.

You mean like a Fall of Cybertron deluxe? 4.75" to 5.2" vrs the 6.0" and 6.5" they are today.

:p Additionally I'm a huge fan of Optimus Prime AND Megatron, so this is basically a no brainer. I'm still looking for the perfect Optimus & Megatron & this may be it I'll have to give it a while. And speaking of how many Primes you have I'm probably looking at 50-PLUS!!! If you count all the Rescue Bots, Gravity Bots, FABs, 1/4s., statue, Robot Hero, Tits, G1, movie, Armada/Energon/Unicron, Prime, Beast Wars/Machines/Hunters, RiD'(s plural), ornament, Heroes of Cybertron, Activator, Animated, Pez.Contanier, Vinyl, eclusive, action figure, KO, figure I have.
