For owners of Cubex Huff 1.0: Is anyone willing to part with the extra head/face and hands? I recently got a junker Huff but it's missing the head and hands. I only need him to be a display piece and a head and/or hands would go a LONG way. Most likely your extra head and hands are just sitting in the box anyways. :)

Yeah you're probably right now that I think about it like that. It IS very similar to the Cliffjumper scenario.

THANK YOU. OK, see, I had no idea and kept wondering why they are comparing it to some other company's toy and not their own earlier version. Those two things are the same thing. 3rd Parties are fun!

I'll have to read up on what the QC issues are with the first one, but I sure do like the collapsing cab in the new one. For some reason I'm thinking I want a Huffer. I have almost no interest in the minibots, but he will add some nice diversity of size and color to the group. Plus I can have him whine about how he's not a fighter like they are, Prime. I'll likely pose him just getting kicked around by Starscream and such.

Seeing them side by side makes me even sadder that they changed it. The new one is completely out of step with Masterpiece. They've never conjured up a completely new alt mode for any character.

I agree, not feeling good about this alt mode and I love Bad Cubes products. Right now, planning to keep the Cubex version in my collection. Not sure how to post a poll, but I'd be interested to see who prefers the new mold vs. the old, without regard to the unfortunate paint chipping of the original.

It's super easy. Just go to the 3rd party forum and start a new thread. Poll options are right there when you start it.

Which ones, I am willing to sell them for a small price if I am not using them.

Is there a block button for everything that isn't a release update and/or picture?

Except for their other minibots. It might not fit in with the Sunbow slavishness of the current MPs, but it is a good match to the older Real & Robo MPs.

And even the current Sunbow slavishness has super realistic alt modes at least as an option (excluding Infernos horrible Duplo tail end) a plasticy, almost Chibi alt like V1 just stands out to me. I'm not the kind of guy who complains "the original spec sheet clearly indicated a 1982 GT model while this is clearly the 1983 GTI due to the additional rivet on the rear tail arch" level of pickiness, I just prefer MP's that look like realistic vehicles, not plastic happy meal toys.
The beauty is that now everyone can be happy. V1's will start to appear on the 2nd hand market for those who prefer the original, while those of us who prefer this only need to wait for a release. Everybody wins!... but especially BadCube. They win more then anyone as they get to sell this particular character all over again.

Sorry, my bad I was referring to Takara, when I said "they've never conjured up a new alt mode..."

It's not a good match to any of the official MP's because the ones with real world vehicles are licensed and based on actual vehicles that exist. Huffer, like Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod was not a replica of a specific real world vehicle. Further still, neither is Badcubes Huff v2. It's meant to look more real but isn't based on a specific real vehicle, so not only is it it out of step with the vintage toy/toon style Masterpieces- it's out of step with the real world based vehicles too.

But it is totally on par with Badcubes other minibot vehicles so I can understand it from that perspective.

Are we sure of that? The overall proportions remind me of a GMC crackerbox, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on a real Japanese or Chinese truck.

I'm liking the bot mode and that's where he'll spend his time. This is just a proto so hopefully he's not going to have that sag in the middle. Honestly the biggest issue with the alt mode for me is the visible seam where the cab roof collapses

I can see both sides of this one. The new version looks great and if you want a Huffer-as-real-vehicle, it fits the bill, but the changes do stray a fair bit from the animation model.

Well, I guess that's just motivation for another 3P to consider making a Huffer.

But if you google GMC crackerbox you can see it's only reminiscent of it - it's not a replica of it. It's just meant to look like a beat up old truck which Huffer never did.

Bumblebee is an exact replica of a beetle, the datsuns, lambo's, lancias, corvettes, van bros, are all licensed and identical to the real world vehicles like their original toys.

Huff v2 is neither a replica of a specific truck nor is it accurate to the G1 design. It's actually more Classics style if anything as it takes elements of the original and tries to blend it with a new design that's it own It's not a bad approach, it doesn't look bad and clearly plenty of folks really like it - so good luck to them :)

Yeah they've basically traded a made-up vehicle that looked like G1 Huffer for a made-up vehicle that doesn't look like Huffer. I feel like I'm back in the Cubex/X-TB Krank days: XTB chose to pick a real world alt mode out of a hat whereas Cubex went with something much more faithful, and I loved them for that. Except now BC are the ones doing the 'random alt mode' thing. Ah well. Some you win, some you lose!

Why GMC Crackerbox? It doesn't even have a grill. Huff could be based on a Japanese terminal tractor, or maybe a Ford W series (1960/70s).

Iv'e always said it. Nobody does this better than Badcube. The way the can take one mold and make it look so very different when used a second time. Grump and Slick being good examples and these two doing the same again.

    Legends!

Not sure, I don't really see it either beyond it's a truck. I'd never heard of a GMC Crackerbox until the person the person earlier mentioned it :)
