Sorry it took so long! EDITED to add that this is the first release "toon" purple version which is a lighter purple than the "toon" reissue, but I have installed the transparent purple parts from the toon reissue which are more purple as opposed to the very pinkish color pieces that came on the first release (always my biggest gripe with my original first issue). Also sorry about the pics being sideways. On my phone they're right side up and I can't change them without it automatically resaving them at a smaller file size. 20170101_191208.jpg 20170101_191137.jpg 20170101_191145.jpg :(

Hopefully the color difference shows in my pics above. Anyone who has the first release knows how pink the hand, arm cannon and chest looks as compared to this...

I'm planning on getting the reissue ft-03. It's a happy medium of purple for me. Not too dark but not at all too light. The only thing I want to do is remove the darker purple details off its shoulders which I'm dumbfounded on why they added that. I once had the toy colored version in with the shoulder details were barely noticeable. Anyone here mind sharing pics of the reissue one please? Need motivation though I'm eagerly in need of FansToys Sludge and Galvatron before I settle on this

Crappy hotel room photo, but the dark purple is the same color as the waist.

Glad we didn't lead you to a disappointment with our opinions on this guy. This is still my Shockwave despite the many versions to choose from. He's a great figure that hits all my marks.

He is probably the most visually impressive figure I have in my MP display right now. Between the $60 discount and the recommendations here, it was a no brainer.

Got this guy for Christmas and had time to open him today. Couple questions... Does he have a waist swivel? Seems super tight if so. Also he came with an extra forearm and screws. Is that just to move the hose the underside of his arm? I don't see a spot for the led switch on the optional piece. Anything else I need to know?

You need to extend the waist (pull the chest up) in order to be able to use the waist swivel. The extra forearm is to move the hose underneath the arm as you mention - it doesn't have leds in this configuration.

Yeah I was in the same place as you when I got mine. I never noticed he came in the box with his waist collapsed in and when I pulled on it and it popped open it was all "Surprise!"

I'm very much late to the party here, but i feel like i need to say a few words about this guy.
When i decided to expand my TF MP collecting from only Autobots to also include Decepticons, i obviously had a big backlog of figures to pick up. This was about when MP Laserwave was announced. Shockwave is my favorite Decepticon, so i really wanted a good figure to represent him. I looked long and hard on both Quakewave and Laserwave, but in the end i went with the official one. Long story short, when i finally got him in my hand i was for the first time really disappointed with an MP figure. The flimsiness, things not tabbing in, skinny legs, the right hand, my god the right hand...so much stuff that rubbed me the wrong way. But he was cartoon accurate, which is why i went with him in the first place.
Everytime i walked past my Decepticon display case and saw this strangely proportioned guy who managed to be both fat and bulimic at the same time standing there, sticking out like a sore thumb with his ”Disney on Ice” color scheme, i cringed. A few weeks ago i finally had enough and decided to replace him.

I don't remember who said it, but i think it was Bobby Skullface. I'm paraphrasing. But it was something in the lines of "We think we want cartoon accuracy, but what we really want is cartoon accuracy with an updated twist". This is exactly how i feel!
I originally decided against Quakewave because of the legs, because of the color. He was not cartoon accurate.
Last week i finally got him in hand. I must say, i kinda love this figure. Sure there are some minor problems, like the hose (got the reissue) and lack of paint. This figure might not 100% look like Shockwave, but he FEELS like Shockwave. Big, menacing, calculating. The proportions are perfect, much thanks to the legs.
Im not very surprised, now i know the quality that comes with Fans Toys. However i did not know that when i first started out with the MP scale collecting. Eventho this guy was made when Fans Toys were at their infancy, it still holds up great in my opinion.

Sorry this kinda dragged on a bit, but i just want to share my joy about this figure. :)

Although I don't agree with a lot you've said, the 'Disney on Ice' colour scheme comment got me giggling!

I agree with virtually everything Vex said except for MP-29 not pegging together and Quakewave's legs. My MP-29 at least pegs together fine, and I would personally like Quakewave's legs to be a tad narrower. That said, I only own MP-29 because he's a Shockwave- and still may not keep him despite that. He currently sits on my shelf of "why do I own these figures," lol. I prefer Quakewave AND Cloud9's Quakeblast to my official MP, for most of the reasons Vex stated for himself. His color sucks- I don't even see it as cartoon accurate. His legs are too skinny. His head isn't even cartoon accurate IMO. And finally, he is too short for me. He varied in the cartoon, and I would've preferred Soundwave height, not MP Starscream height (who also feels a little too small, likely because they lazily reused the MP-03 mold to make MP-11 after MP-10 and didn't adjust his scale). MP-29 just looks unimposing and weak. His transformation is cool though despite his gaps. So there's that I guess.

Popped in hoping there was some sort if crazy add on kit or new release of quakewave. Sadly no.. Only another convert. Lol.

Ive got both qb and a bunch of the different qw versions (clear, purple, gray) and also had the official MP.

I sold the official, never took it out of the box. Just wasn't what I hoped for. Thought about liquidating my qws but just found them too cool to get rid of.

Qb or qw do great for an MP Shockwave for me, depending on the day. I love qbs price, build quality and finish, but depending how you remember him, he is maybe a tad big.

Qw is probably my best option. Just so cool. If you don't have him, get him. He's readily available cheap since many people dumped him for the official.

The only thing I don't like about Quakewave (I have the original version) are his hands. I don't like the clear ones and I don't like the pink/purple solid ones FT's made. I'd kill for a nice set of gray like the official has. That said, he's still my favorite and I'm not going to replace him in my collection ever.

I have 3 of the original (one still sealed) and one of each of the others. They are all awesome.

In hand QW just feels and handles like a premium adult collectible figure. The official feels like a cheap, plastic kid's toy.
