Ahhhhhh, I'm in the UK, exclusives are different here xD

If they aren't TRU/Argos exclusive (The AoE Grimmy and Prime were Argos Exclusive) they generally appear in multiple stores (the beast wars packs were in both Asda and Tesco, same as the legends pack) My bad!

As far as i'm aware, the "Clear plastic window elbows" haven't had reports of being easy to break.

It's one of the only movie figures in recent memory to not have a QC issue or 2, despite multiple reuses of the mold. Even today, 2 years later, my figure is as tight as it was when i bought it.

The arms are a bit meh, but it won't break on you unless you are rough with it, but even then that's the same with any figure.

Just because it's likely to NOT break doesn't change the fact I feel uncomfortable with FEELING like I'm going to break it. And I still think the toy is lackluster in other ways too but I don't mention them because I know these same things appeal to other people and thus it's a personal preference issue that leads me to dislike the toy in those ways instead of genuine design flaws like those horrid elbows.

If Slash has a new paint job to reflect potentially screen accurate colors, then I have no problem with them using a pre-existing mold given he has yet to appear on screen. This may be a chance for collectors and fans who did not get him the first round to grab him. The AOE Deluxe Dinobots are great by the way. Scorn has an awesome design and a transformation reminiscent of Beast Wars Megatron. Strafe is great. Slug and Snarl are neat. Slash is probably the weakest of the bunch, but even he has a really neat design. I think both the AOE toyline and the film itself are very underrated and get far more hate than is warranted.

Anyway, love the new Decepticon toys, especially Barricade.

I nor anyone else stated that the line would be 90% repaints, look who is claiming the sky is falling now. But seeing how we have seen 1/3 of the deluxe figures and half of them are repaints one could easily assume that 50% of this line will be repaints. If you well recall Hasbro stated that they only made about half the money they were expecting from the aoe merchandising. Seams like the best way to make that other half is to resell everything from aoe.

I still don't understand why they made a Slash figure when he wasn't in AOE. Hasbro could've done a unlicensed Stinger toy instead.

because 30+ dollars is too much to pay for that shit aoe Bumblebee mold.
    15 at retail is passable
    8 bucks clearance is ideal.

A genuine Stinger is not only hard to find, but $60-90 now.

I liked the fact they made all the dinobot designs into figures, but I felt Slash was definetly the weekest of them all. That said, when we first learned of this Slash my mind immedietly went to the figure being painted to represent the "mini-dinobots" we know are in the film. If thats the case I guess I'll pick him up.
I like the old one once you got passed the gorilla arms and horrid colors, mainly due to one of the more interesting transformations of AOE.

I mean, it's an unlicensed stinger, so I don't know what to tell you.

And yeah that's fair. I've been having this problem too with movie figures from previous lines. Fortunately I managed to grab a Stinger and Wheeljack when it was fairly low.

When I think about it, They've got to have at least 1 or 2 new molds, right? I was just worried they won't make all the new characters and only rerelease AOE toys. I just hope/predict this will be our line.

    Wave 1
    AOE Bumblebee
    AOE Dinobot Slash
    New Mold Barricade
    New Mold Crankcase

    Wave 2
    AOE Crosshairs
AOE Lockdown retooled into Hot Rod
    New Mold Hooligan
    New Mold Cogman

    Wave 3
    AOE Drift Retooled and Repainted
    AOE Dinobot
    New Mold Mohawk
    New Mold McLaren

I thought even Berserker was remolded from Crankcase, but your list looks very promising in that bad way. Lets see what Hasbro show to us on NYTF.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that at least a little over half are new molds.

Honestly, I'm quite happy we're getting retools of Bee and Slash. I have Lord knows how many movie Bees and I already have Slash. Money saved for me!
But moreover, let's face it, Slash in TLK is probably going to look identical to the AOE Slash toy. And why waste a new mold on Bumblebee of all characters? (though I will admit, as nice of a figure as it is, AOE Bee was the wrong choice to repaint.) I'm glad to see these repaints as that means more money will (hopefully) be pooled into making new molds for new characters instead of making new molds for characters we already have.

The only way I'd pick up Slash is if he was in movie colours, and even then it would only be if the rest of the dinobots were getting repaints in movie colours. Right now I've got my whole fruit loops dinobot team and I'm quite happy with them.

That's what I'm thinking. They've already got a Platinum pack in movie color for Grimlock, Scorn, Slug, Slog and Strafe. But we have not seen one for Slash or Snarl.
